Kerry on Bernanke's nomination as Fed
Not knowing a lot about the man, I cant figure out what he thinks of him thru that, but Bush rarely names people who are independant, so, I imagine this is negative.

"We need an independent voice, free from political influence and interference, who will speak the truth to policy-makers in Washington. At a time when the number of Americans without health insurance, gas prices and education costs are skyrocketing, and wages aren't keeping pace, it's time for some common sense." -- Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.

1. Is this comfirmation before Senate Finance Comm?
It's probably before a lot of committees. And why does that idiot Bunning oppose Bernanke? That was interesting.

I love how Sen. Kerry's remarks are consistent in talking aout * appointees and nominees. This guy is another 'inner circle' nominee, just like Harriet Miers. Calling them on their cronyisms is a great move.

2. The guy is in favor of tech outsourcing...
...which is one of those non-negotiable no-compromise issues for me, what with my being in computer science. (I don't care much for Greenspan either, what with his wishful thinking and utter lack of concern for the real effects of the energy problem.) I hope Kerry calls him out for that too. "Keep the jobs here" was a part of the campaign platform, especially after he selected Edwards... I'm pretty sure that they actually proposed punishment in the tax code for companies that moved jobs to foreign countries.
