I just need to complain. I was planning on finishing school by the end of next summer but they aren't offering this class I need to graduate until next fall. So I have to come back for the fall. Freaking Arnold and his budget cuts. I'm soooo sad.

2. My daughter spent a fortune because of that |
|
She was constantly stuck with taking classes she didn't need so she could qualify to get financial aid for the classes she did need. Then, when she was almost done with her nursing pre-requisites, they added a requirement. Plus, there's a 2-3 year waiting list for the local nursing school after that. So she has student loans to pay and doesn't have the degree that was supposed to allow her enough money to pay them. That's why there's a nursing shortage, because there's a nursing school shortage.

3. That's awful - this may be off the wall |

Check and see if anyone can sponsor you to take the course as independent study. (Years ago I did that with a college math course and my daughter did it in high school for the first year of the two year AP US HIstory class.) Especially if you first go to any professor you know in the department and explain your situation. It likely won't be easy to get approved but you might be able to prove to them you have the ability, independence, and inititive to do it.

8. I agree with this advice |

The dept. head has the authority to wave or substitute classes. So talk to them. You'll never know if you don't ask! Good Luck.

4. Wow. Sorry to hear that. |

I'm trying to finish a degree too, and I know how scheduling the required classes can really be a pain.
You should see if there's any way they'll let you do it by independent study.
Either way, hang in there. It truly sucks now but if you find you can't do anything about it, maybe fate will make it turn out all right anyway. That's what often happens when you think you've hit a wall.

5. I'm so sorry to hear this. |

So close and yet, another damned obstacle.
Hang in there kiddo. It's worth the pain and the annoyance. (Damn it, I feel bad for you. This does indeed suck.)

That has to be really frustrating having to put your life on hold unexpectedly. Hang in there and vent to us any time you need to!

Yesterday was just one of those bad days that just randomly occur. I figure, this may not be so bad. I just have to worry about finding housing for a quarter but at least I don't have to take summer school and I won't lose my mom's health insurance. I'll just try to do everything i wanted to do during the fall during the summer I guess. Thanks for the support!
