A very cool story - not Kerry related.
One of the woman that I work with is from Taiwan.
She's a very interesting woman - speaks 5 languages, practices holistic medicine.

Anyway - her church has been huge in assisting the hurricane victims that are here in Phoenix. They give them $100 checks, come into my bank to cash them, even tho they don't have accounts with us. She takes responsibility for the checks. They also serve hot meals to the victims 2x a day. They have been doing this since these people have arrived in the valley.

Today I waited on a woman from Nola that lost everything, including her children:cry: Her story took my breath away. After she left, I went up to the woman that I work with and gave her the biggest hug. She said to me - "We are all G-ds's children, and we need to take care of each other".

It just warms my heart to know that there are people out there that keep on giving, not expecting anything in return. Just doing it because they want to. I am humbled and honored to know someone like this.

Just wanted to share.

1. That is very cool Pirhana
Thanks for sharing! It's stories like these that never see the light of day in the MSM, so it's nice to hear about them. There is so much sad news all around us, it's refreshing to hear about unsung heroes whose actions make the world a better place!

2. Thank you, that's a nice story...
..but I am sorry for the woman who lost everything.

I have been morose all day myself, when I wasn't in a meeting arguing (ok discussing) with people. Last night American Experience on PBS ran the RFK piece again and I couldn't stop myself from watching. I don't know why I do that - I know how it ends, huh.

Then wake up this morning to the news of Rosa Parks, and later someone reminded me it is also the third anniversary of Wellstone's death. Then the news that we lost the 2000th US soldier in Iraq (and knowing they are not telling us about the bigger number of deaths.)

So, it is so nice to hear about that woman you work with. Some folks just keep working to do what good they can. We need people like her so badly.

3. That is a beautiful story
It is indeed nice to know that there are people out there who practice what they preach. It's like seeing that proverbial candle in the dark that shows there is still so much hope in the world.
