4. On that order, on Olberman tonight

Keith told the story about 2003 and Franken and Garofalo being on his show on consecutive nights. He was called into MSN's VP office and questioned about having too many liberals on. I'd never heard Keith admit that he had that kind of pressure put on him, he also said that it's hard to believe it was just two years ago and glad that that was all behind us now. I hope it's behind us, but wow, what a statement. I was rather shocked when he said it, it's like the flood gates are open and the truth is finally coming out. "We tried to tell you."

We can refer to outside threads. There was no gag order on that. What was asked of us was that we not point to outside threads and request that people from this group go out en masse and post in what amounts to a flame war. The idea behind this is that DU has too many low-content threads that are simply people drawing up sides and yelling at each other. IT's a very very narrow request.

You can call attention to other threads, espcecially harmless threads like this pic one. You can note other threads that are informative in nature and you think folks from this group might find it really interesting. What was specifically requested was that we not 'gang up' on other threads that are inflammatory in nature. (Come on, we know what those threads look like.)

Even so, should you stumble on one of those threads in another forum, have at 'em. Exercise your Skinner-given right to express yourself. Just don't ask for the calvary to come over the hill and assist you. That's all. You can even refer to frustrating threads, just don't direct others specifically to those threads.

We are not gagged or denied free speech in here. We are simply asked to not throw gasoline on existing fires. That's not so bad.
