Dec. 11 Boston update.
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 10:44 PM by Vektor
Well, ladies, I have a bit of news. After a few unsuccessful attempts at finding a lady friend to accompany me to the JK party, I have to say I have failed. I had hoped to bring a companion, as I abhor flying alone.

Ok, I abhor flying at all.

It seems that everyone I know is either broke, has to work, or has a family member battling cancer, and they just cannot justify jetting to Boston for a fun, yet expensive long weekend.

I got two tickets, and a hotel room at the Plaza. I had hoped to travel with and share expenses with someone, and was a little let down when it looked like I'd be going alone.

Sooo...my husband piped up, and admitted he really wanted to go. Now, those of you who have met him, (TayTay, Whometense) know he is a very cool guy and avid Kerry supporter. He's excited about the possibility of going, but I know this was supposed to be a ladies' weekend, or more appropriately, a LLL's weekend, and well, having my husband around sort of disqualifies me from participating in any JK crotch watching and lewd debaucherous banter, as it would just be too rude to do in front of Steve.

Now I feel bad, because I don't want the presence of *a guy* to ruin the LLL fun. (Not that any of you are required to tone it down. HARDLY. Besides, he has bravely sat through many an LLL luncheon, both with members of DU and the old Kerry blog.

I do love him dearly, but sometimes a gal just needs a weekend with the "chicks. And I don't want to piss on any of you who are wanting a "ladies only" extravaganza. On the flip side, I feel MUCH safer traveling with him as opposed to alone. I am DEATHLY afraid on airplanes.

I don't know what to do. Input? I will not be hurt if you guys object to a male party crasher.

1. Depends. What does he look like?
Just kidding.
Hey, I like guys. And if he's a Kerry supporter, he's A-OK in my book.
I vote yea.

3. What is LLL?
Think of it this way, he can be the chaperone of the weekend, or the token male.

It can be fun for you having him there. And when you feel the need to really check out Kerry, have someone start a conversation with the hubby.

5. Well, Vek,
speaking strictly for myself, your husband is a total sweetheart. And a good sport as well. He's perfectly welcome. I would actually be more concerned that we would make him uncomfortable, but judging from my limited experience, he seems to be able to take it just fine. ;-)

6. I love your hubby. He is a great guy!
He can come along. He met Whome and I last summer and wants to come back? Well, heck, he has to come. We loved him.

I would adore having him along. Please bring the Mr. and please, please don't worry about inhibiting us. I don't think that's going to happen. (There will just be too much friendship, fun and, ah, estrogen in the air.)

I'm psyched about this. Tell to pack his bags, he's gonna see Beantown in the (near) winter. He'll love it.
