John Kerry needs to step into the spotlight and lead the party. |
|
Through this campaign Kerry has established his creds. He put his heart and soul out there for 2 years. He took all the mud slung at him. He could easily have stayed in the senate and not have subjected himself to the rigors and demands of a national election. His strong voice in the senate now will only help the Dems get their issues across. If he gets the spotlight for the next 2 years, speaks up for the middle/lower class of America, continues to speak out on the ineptitude of this incompetent administration, he will be a much stronger candidate in '08. He has national recognition now that he didn't have in the start of this race. It was painful to watch at first, but he did learn to hone is message and speak directly to common Americans. Many of the attacks the Repugs used on him this time, will not carry as much weight the next time around. I want him to be the voice of our party. He needs to be our spokesperson on the many issues the Repugs will trash in the next 4 years. I want to see him commenting on the evening news, I want to see him on MTP, and other talk shows. I want him out there in the spotlight kicking sand in the Repugs faces whenever he can.

4. Agree. That was a start. |
|
But he can't fade away like Gore did after the 2000 debacle. They've got to get him on all the talk shows. And when there are issues, he has to be the "go to guy" for news interviews. Got to keep his presence in front of the public. Look how often McCain and Biden are on the news and talk shows.

5. We will see a lot more of John Kerry in the next few weeks. |
|
He has to be careful now to make sure that the investigation and the recount is not marred by neocon assaults and media spin. This is about uncovering truth. John Kerry has told us what we need to know. This is the most important fight of our lives, and the time is now. It is up to us stand firm and hold * and his puppet masters accountable.
I would love to see him out in the spotlight. But, I know that he will follow the path that will do the most to advance this cause. The Congressional report that was released yesterday is fantastic news. I expect more news will be released everyday. Ohio is not going to be able to hide all this mess in their biased judicial system. The truth will come out in a big way. When it does, a shocked and angry America will be ready to listen to John Kerry.

and i think a lot of people need to realize this is not and shouldn't be a war between parties. It's a fight to save our rights, as the people. The fact he's been so quiet has helped to keep the 'rhetoric' and spin down enough so that things can actually get accomplished. He's so smart :)

7. Hope you're right. I just don't want to see him fade into the |
|
background like Gore did. If he seriously wants to run again in 2008, he'll need to stay very visible.
I agree he needs to stay below the radar while all the investigation is going on. But once the results of the fraud are open for public scrutiny he should be out there leading the charge. I just hope he is not them labeled as a "Johnny come lately". Stealing the spotlight after others did the work. That's one of the risks he runs staying in the background now.

John Kerry is not going anwhere. I think that the video message he sent made that very clear. I just watched "Going Upriver" again with my Mom. She had never seen it. Right after the footage of the Senate hearings she said "Look at what he did then. How can anyone think that this man would give up on this fight now?"
There he was, 27 years old, pleading with his government to recognize the horrible waste of life that was happening in Vietnam. He was not out to win fame, fortune or political office. He was out to save the lives of countless young Americans. He was willing to give up all of his political dreams to fight against an injustice.
Here we are involved in another unjust civil war, and again young Americans are paying the ultimate price. John Kerry is one of the most powerful figures in America. He has been where we are now. He understands more than most what is at stake.
