Happy New Year: The Year of the Citizen
I posted this at my blog, and thought I'd share it with you all. (It's short, this is all there is, you don't have to "click to see more.")

I want to wish all my readers a happy, healthy and productive year in 2006. I hope we will work together to bring real, positive change to America and to our nation's role in the world.

There is much to be done, but it will be rewarding work. Two inspiring quotes come to mind:

Margaret Mead:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

John Kerry:

There is no more important word, in my judgment, in the American language, other than love, than citizen.

Let's make 2006 the Year of the Citizen.

I'd like to add, for this audience: we can take back our government this year, we can make significant strides in taking back the media, and we can start to revitalize the notion of citizenship in this country.

It's on us to make it happen.

5. Excellent message
My son who is a musician just wrote a song called "Citizen Soldier". As soon as he records it I will post it. I told him about the Kerrycrats beer with Senator Kerry and he was in awe, he would love to have a beer with him, he believes that JK is the most honest and the best politician out there. His reasons, because JK speaks TRUTH to power and he is for what is good for this country and the world.

9. Cool. Can't wait to here the song!
It's great that your son 'gets it' about John Kerry even though the mainstream media makes it so difficult.

11. I love both of these quotes.
When I go to another convention next week I am picking up the T-shirt with the "Well behaved women seldom make history' quote on it from, of all people, Marilyn Monroe. I love that one too!

I think 2006 will be the Year of the Citizen and the year in which the people remind their elected represetatives that this is a constitutional form of government. That means that the rule of law matters and the law applies to all, even the President and his minions.
