Not Serious Dept: Ahm, yeah, right

Ahm, I thought he looked good when I saw him. Then again, I thought he looked really good in April at the Bolton hearings. (Yum!)

I wonder if this is a trend?

1. That is so dumb - he is raising his eye brow in the second picture
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 10:09 AM by karynnj
the first is very badly lit and he looks quite tired. It's from the GE campaign because of the sign behind him - but it's the worst I ever saw. What's funny is that he's been in the public eye for pratically every day in the time period, and there is no date where you can draw a line such that he looks consistently better after the line. (The Texas Kids First pix looked as great as the Bolton one.)

2. Oh yeah, those Tex pics are something else
Someone brought one of those pics to the Boston Event and had it signed. (Who was it? I don't remember.) Yum!

This is silly stuff, but still, it's nice to see a neutral site say, this guy is looking good. (There is no political agenda at this site. So, in a way, it was nice.)

4. amazing isn't it.
Btw, nice pic. I like this one better from around the same time:

Lighting, it's all in the lighting.

5. it is indeed the lighting.
The man has deep-set eyes, and a little too much overhead lighting hides them. And that's why his expressions can change so much, depending on raising his eyebrows or not.

10. On the other hand...
... if I were Maria Cantwell I would not want this picture to be viewed much, she looks quite horrible here, and 10 years older. She usually looks quite nice and could teach most of the senator ladies a thing or two about how to dress :-)

6. John Kerry is like many other people
He is only semi-photogenic. He coould take 4 different pictures at the same event, on the same day, and look different in each one of them. It's the lighting, like you guys said, and his facial features, that photograph well only at certain angles and postures. While he is one of the luckier 'semis', there really are those people who rarely take a good picture and look completely different in reality.
It's unfortunate that the press is dishonest about this. They know very well how to manipulate photographs of those individuals.

7. I agree -
I've seem a lot of photos of him, taken at events I attended in person, that didn't begin to capture the way he actually looked. There are some great photos of him, but he is really hard to light, and his eyes are often in shadow. I've noticed that his "political" polite smiles don't photograph well at all.

8. Does anyone remember that episode of Seinfeld
where Jerry is dating a girl who in certain light looks like a super model but then in other light, not so much? JK is kind of like that (only not quite to that extreme).

We follow JK pretty closely here - I think if he were MIA for long enough to have plastic surgery we'd notice his absence. Even if he did have it (or even Botox for that matter) BFD.

9. I ran into that site awhile back
So what IF Kerry gets botox, eyebrows lifted (IF)

He is a public figure - a rock star in my definition.
I'm glad he cares enough about his appearance to want to look good. And I might add, he's doing a fine job of looking good.

Now for some gossip - You know who I think really is into botox?
Barbara Boxer. Anyone else notice? Some days she has that older woman look, and other times she is smooth as can be. I notice that she always looks better after break - so we should be seeing a gorgeous Barbara on the Senate floor.

Bushie also did Botox before the second Prez debate. I read it somewhere, and he did look alot better. He could have all the plastic surgery in the world, and he will still look like a chimp to me.

11. yeah,
with * it's a choice between Alfred E Neuman and the Crypt-keeper!

Teresa has admitted to Botox, and I don't think that's a bad thing if someone wants to do it and has the cash. But I don't think JK has.

By the way, I saw that A&E thing on the Washington wives and just fell in love with her all over again! JK is so fortunate to have her, and she is fortunate to have him.
