6. I'm sad!
I didn't even get that beautiful photo they sent people during the campaign to thank them for volunteering/contributing and I campaigned and campaigned! And I made ONE contribution...

Any idea how one gets on that list?

I mean I'll work without beautiful and inspiring greetings, and I'm happy to get to see yours, but I've often wondered why my campaign work didn't seem to make it onto the radar!

8. Ahm, I got one last year and had no idea why.
I worked, but I'm sure that others did more. (Way more.) I couldn't figure it out. I ended up chalking it up to chance.

I have no idea who's in charge of making the list, but I think it must be fairly random.

either Friends of John Kerry or the KAP pac, because my name included a middle initial that I never use when asked my name but is on the credit card I used.

Great teeth make a great smile!

My son has them too, and I always kid with him about how his teeth are why he's successful--attracts the ladies and inspires friendship in the guys!

 It shows Sen. Kerry on stage at a rally and he has this posture that just gets to me. (It's sort of a defiant, cheer for me, pose that has one foot in foot out in front and this smile on his face.)

Anyone have this? please?

That would be hot as shit. Either way, I want to travel about and BE involved. No sitting on the sidelines this time.

All up in it, DAWG. All up in it.

You probably will have an easier time getting a job than I would, since you are studying political science. I've taken the all the classes to transfer to a four year university as a junior...

But you'll have a *degree*!

Will they need a registered nurse? Rog said they get sick a lot.

If they hire you and not me, I'll just follow your bus in my capitalist pig SUV with my first aid kit, in case anyone gets injured. :-)

46. Hey, I got this too!
:loveya:

I went home last night and looked in my "deal with later" mail pile. (The outer envelope is actually very nice, but sadly was too easily mistaken for some "invitations" I've been getting lately from a local real estate flack.)

And there it was. I can't tell you how happy I am to receive it. Really, I am surprised that more of us didn't get it. Maybe it did come from the KAP contributor list, but that last sentence seems to express to me, the takeaway JK and Teresa got from our Boston visit. I kind of felt, when we were at the pub, that JK felt a sense of wonder at our support and the lengths we would evidently go to for him. I think the experience really did buoy him and Teresa, so I can't help thinking that line was meant for us - all of us, including you all who weren't there but he knew about by the birthday cards, and us telling him.

I love that so much that I am going to put it in my sig line for awhile.

Really, just the reaction to those cards. He called Rog to ask what those postmarks were. He was just so damn impressed that those cards had travelled all over the country. Remember when Rog asked us about that? (I think that's why he came back to talk to us, cuz of those cards and because of what they represented. That touched him so much. That makes me feel good, it really does.)

49. What really seems nice about that is that it really
does show how un-cynical and genuine he is. For someone who has had thousands of people sceaming his name and who is still a very powerful person politically to be so touched by something like that is awesome.

50. That's so true.
And if I could convey any one point to the woodenheaded Kerry haters it would be that one - that the press on him is 100% wrong when they talk about him being calculating and cynical. He is the least cynical person in public life, I swear. And the most idealistic. It's what I most love about him. Though I completely admire his investigative work and his legislative work, the quality that brings my devotion is his uncorruptible idealism. There is something pure about him that embodies the best part of the spirit of the 60's and 70's and that time and maturity and experience can't touch.

I came away from that night with a deep sense that this is a very human, caring, genuine guy. He was genuinely interested in what we had to say and seemed to really be taking in our feedback. I got such a sense of affection, caring, dedication, and determination from him, it's really hard to describe. But it made an impression on me I won't forget.
