Kerry Blasts Pat Robertson
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 6, 2006

John Kerry Blasts Pat Robertson for Sharon Comments

Below is a statement by Senator John Kerry on Rev. Pat Robertson's comments on Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon:

"It is beyond shocking to think that as Prime Minister Sharon fights for his life, Pat Robertson would attack his character and disparage the risks Ariel Sharon took to bring peace and security to Israel. At a time like this, you'd expect bigoted tin-horn dictators and petty thugs like President Ahmadinejad of Iran to attack Sharon, but no American who claims to be a leader should stoop so low. Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised to hear such venom from someone who claimed Hurricane Katrina was punishment for the people of New Orleans.

"Ariel Sharon is a courageous and good man, and he deserves the world's prayers, just as the people of Israel today deserve an apology from Pat Robertson."

2. Bush issued the following statement:
The economy is doing great.

President Kerry's statement slaps down Mr. Evil.

3. Why would someone
try to spin this into Kerry buying into Bush's spin on Iran? (GD-P)

11. Another question
What's with the write off the Democrats coming from a certain contingency? Any insights? That's a crazy way to promote a candidate.

6. Good for JK.
Pat Robertson is one very scary mofo. He has become a very rich man playing on the fears of people who do not think for themselves. IMO, he's yet another future occupant of that Special Place in Hell. Pat, * and Senator Barfbag all have that signature smirk that gives me the creeps. I think they're all Satan's clones.

8. a few thoughts
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 02:21 PM by ginnyinWI
a) Many thanks to Kerry for acting like a president and reaching out with comforting words to an allied nation in their time of great distress.

b) More kudos for not being afraid of Iran.

c) Where is His Incompetency when these kinds of statements are needed??

d) Rev. Robertson, your padded cell is ready now! (and has been for some time.)

d) pt. 2: With logic like this, anyone who gets sick or dies is doing the work of the devil, and anyone who does not is a saint! Boggles the mind.

9. padded cell indeed
They did a little Robertson's Kookiest Moments on MSNBC. This statement, the death threat, the Katrina statement, and one other that I forget. Surprised that they put it on all at once!

I think it must have been him with the comment that "God will Judge!". Either him or Jerry Falwell.

12. Yep, that was it
Came off as a real loon. And he must have had some kind of face surgery recently, they put up several pictures and the contrast was very clear. Old sane Pat, new wacky Pat. It would sure be nice for some of those 700 clubbers to see this guy as he really is.

14. Kerry does look good
Kerry also knows how important it is that Sharon is there. the chance of Netanyahu getting in power is NOT good. i think Sharon realized he probably doesn't have longer to live and saw the importance of leaving somethig positive and peaceful to his people. it's too bad just when things are moving in the right direction he is losing his life.

17. Hey, maybe JK should come on down here to Virginia Beach
and tell Mr. Robertson in person!! I'll be shouting Amen! right behind him! Anyway, as many as you know I saw the crazy preacher in person, and my impression of him was "eccentric millionaire", just by looking at him. I think he HAS had plastic surgery by the way, because he looked awfully young. But, I gotta agree with JK that old Pat is no different from the Iranian president. Unfortunately, he owns a lot of the elected officials around here, so you can shudder thinking of me and FedupinBushCountry being within the radius of his fiefdom.
