Shadegg, who runs for GOP House leadership, said we have mental health pb
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 05:59 PM by Mass
Shadegg (AZ) has announced today he will run for the House GOP leadership. I dont know anything about this person. May be pirhana can tel us something, but here is what he is reported having said. If true, this is not an improvement over Delay.

Although he is considered quiet, Shadegg made headlines at the 2004 GOP convention, where he referred to filmmaker Michael Moore as the "anti-Christ," called Moore‘s anti-Bush documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" a "crockumentary," and said supporters of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry "have mental health problems."

1. I don't know anything about him either, but he sounds like a
typical Republican jerk. Do you know if Delay was so insulting to us JK supporters during the election? I typically try to ignore Republican comments- if I didn't, my blood pressure would be sky-high.

2. I honestly don't know much about him either. He is not from my
district, and is not a very visible politician. Saracrat is much more involved in Az politics than I am, so she may have more insight. But I will say this. There is one Rep that I can accept, and that is Jeff Flake, also from Az, also in the House. Jeff is against pork spending, big gov't, and is not a BSH fan, and Flake has endorsed him. I will see what I can dig up about him. But what you posted, makes me not even want to try. The whole rep party is insane. Swift boat liars are great, but Michael Moore making a documentary is wrong. ???@#@$#!!!

6. He was a backer
for the ridiculous spending cut that the Repubs came up with , and also he thinks the rich deserve their tax breaks and says that the lower end get most of the tax breaks.

I have watched him on C-Span, IMO he is no better then the rest of them.

3.  He sounds like a lovely guy.

So John Kerry supporters "have mental health problems". Gee Mr. Shadegg, I'd love to seek treatment for my obvious insanity but I can't because Repukes like you have gleefully slashed funding for mental health care! :sarcasm:

I'm hoping Rep. Bohner gets the job just because Jon Stewart and others could get so much mileage out of that name (and because I obviously have the sense of humor of a 12 year old). Must be related to the mental health problems I've suffered at the hands of John Kerry.

(And I know the dude's name is really pronounced Bay-ner.)

4. Why is supporting the candidate who has no mental health
problems better than supporting a person who is at least close to being a sociopath.

7. Hahahahaha
I guess he's jealous because we are all "crazy in love" with John Kerry.

He sounds like a petty, childish person. Sad, really.

8. Oh goodie, I've been pre-diagnosed
So when I go off my rocker and start clocking these douchebags, I can just call Shadegg to be a defense witness! I have mental health problems your honor, he said so!

9. Typical GOP leadership, spew nasty attacks and avoid the issues.
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 09:04 AM by ProSense
On all these online forums, right or left, worse (more on right) has been said, but the members are voters (I don't think any public officials are members of these forums).

Now, think about Democratic elected officials in Congress---whether it's Kerry, Durbin, Kennedy, Waxman, Conyers, Schumer, Lewis or others---how many times have they come out and made crazy public statements about non-elected public figures (Pat Robertson ilk excluded)? They've criticized Bush and the Republicans plenty, in strong language, but always based on the issues or lack of competence.

At this rate, GOP more likely stands for Group Of Psychos.
