Wow. George is a little full of himself.
Movie star GEORGE CLOONEY is convinced he ruined JOHN KERRY's chances in the race for US president in 2004 - by snubbing an invitation and hurting his feelings.

The OCEAN'S TWELVE actor was one of several screen stars invited to ride on Kerry's election train, but it all went downhill for the Democrat when Clooney stayed away.

He recalls, "Kerry asked me to ride on his train - he had a train going cross-country after he was nominated and some actors went on board.

"I called him and explained that I couldn't do it.

"I'd hurt him. I'd actually caused him harm at the polls."

1. That's kind of a wierd story.
But it makes me wonder why he didn't do it.
I don't know if he was a Kerry supporter, but he was definitely abbb.

Reminds me of eminem when he said he lost the election for Kerry because he
did do the video for Mosh soon enough. Now that I agree with. I loved that video.

3. I love that song, too.
And I'm not a big eminem fan.
Something very visceral about it. I'm starting to get into very angry music, which is strangely theraputic. Hmmm... Different kind of protest music, but still...
My future son in law is in a punk band, and they 'make' me go to their shows. LOL, at 46, I'm the oldest person in the room. Thankfully, I'm not easily shocked. It's pretty raw.

6. My brother, who is 58 is still in a band, still performs.
I'll never forget in the 80's when they were into early punk music and played at a club in Tempe (they are from Chicago) my parents went to see them. My dad sat there with cotton in his ears - lol. So don't think you're too old to be there! At 49, I still listen to the same radio stations as my teenagers, and I would happily join you to go hear his band.

Eminem gossip- him and his wife are getting back together. Now, did that make your day?

15. They are currently in a 'battle of the bands'
and made through an elimination round last night.
If they make it to the nationals, Vegas, I think, we'll have to make plans.
Don't buy your ticket yet, though. I think they have a dozen or so rounds to go.

How could he lose the election for Kerry by not showing up? How can he be egotistical if he thinks if he showed up he would have been bad for Kerry?

But he didn't show, so somehow, he was partly responsible for the loss.

7. Me too. What a kook. Like anyone knew the difference.
I'm sure that those who voted for Bush were like "I was GOING to vote for Kerry, but I was a little disappointed that he didn't have George Clooney on his train."

I think Clooney must have been being facetious.

As soon as we get a whole bunch of Dems elected in '06, it'll be time to start thinking about '08.
And next time, there will be no regrets.
My 2006 plan is to get rid of Santorum.
My three year plan is to work my ass off for the Senator.
My five year plan is to retire and watch Pres Kerry on TV every day.
It helps to have goals.

But mine for 2006 is to get rid of Kyl.
And to keep my democratic governor in office.

Who is worse - Kyl or Santorum?
That's a tough one!

When Kerry is President, we can't retire. That's what we did in the 90's.
We were all so happy, we forgot to pay attention to what the crazies were up to.

Kyl Blames New Orleans Residents
by Mike Liddell
Tue Sep 6th, 2005 at 03:08:09 PM EST

During a radio interview last week, Arizona talk show host Barry Young spoke out in favor of a strong national response to Hurricane Katrina. Arizona's Republican Senator Jon Kyl, on the other hand, was not so supportive, instead suggesting that the victims are to blame for lacking insurance and living in a city below sea level! Senator Kyl owes the victims an immediate apology for such callous, disrespectful statements.

Kyl Suggests Uninsured Hurricane Victims Shouldn’t Receive Federal Relief Funds. Speaking about Hurricane Katrina on KFYI-FM last week, Kyl said, “the question is if people know year after year after year a natural disaster occurs in a particular place and people continue to build there and want to live there, should they bear the responsibility of buying insurance or should everyone else bear the responsibility?”

You are making me do some research on Kyl, which is a good thing, as it is in my goals for the year :)

and just found out that he was the one that started the Kill Harriet Myers Nomination campaign.
hahaha.

He is just a pig. Yes man to the repugs. During the first day of the Alito hearings, he didn't ask questions, he just made comments like "if you don't want to answer, I understand". Votes along with repugs everytime, against everything we believe in.

Where you have me beat, is that Santorium is nuts; delusional. Kyl is just a walking, talking gop robot.

24. Nice goals. Mine are:
Get rid of Mittens, the lying betrayer Gov of Mass and replace him with someone who likes Massachusetts and even vacations here occasionally.

Get Good Dems elected up and down the ticket in '06. (And go to PA and help GV get rid of the clueless and somewhat evil Santorum. He also hates Massachusetts and I have a vendetta aganst him on general principles.)

After that, I hope to get ready for '08. This may include finding a new candidate for the US Senate, cuz one of my currently serving Sens is looking to move up. (Sigh and great and sigh! Some people are not easily replaced. Great Senators don't grow on trees you know.)

Let's see, I want the Red Sox to win another Word Series in 2008, then have them go to the White House again and have someone there who doesn't make a travesty of the whole thing. (Cuz I'm petty and trivial sometimes and that sucked. I mean it was great, but it also sucked.)

George Clooney does not take himself that seriously. I bet he was doing deadpan sarcasm and the nitwit reporter didn't get it and took it down as if it were gospel.

22. whoever wrote it is misinterpreting what Clooney meant
Clooney was talking about the "middle America" we always hear about who hate being lectured by "hollywood" on politics.

he was saying that he WOULD hurt him if he campaigned for him. he NEVER said Kerry lost or didn't do well because he didn't campaign for him.

i remember when Clooney first said this. i don't know why this person is claiming Clooney meant something which he clearly did not.

think this is a sucky piece of writing? It makes no sense: the context and the quotes don't match.

"snubbing an invitation and hurting his feelings." ????

"I called him and explained that I couldn't do it.

"I'd hurt him. I'd actually caused him harm at the polls."

Clooney is always making jokes and has on a number of occasions said he's not interested in politics because of the things he's done in his past. IMO, this reads more like a he's saying that associating with him could have harmed Kerry in the polls. Maybe I wrong.

27. correct, that's exactly what Clooney was saying
i clicked on the link but the article isn't loading for me. but it seems whoever wrote it left out the other things that Clooney said about how being a Celeb is a turnoff for voters and that's why he didn't want to campaign for Kerry. he would have hurt Kerry among certain voters.

i don't agree he would have. but that is what Clooney meant by those comments. it was nothing negative. in fact it shows he really wanted Kerry to win. if he was the egotistical type he would have jumped at the chance to get out there without considering how people would feel about him.
