So, Hillary's coming to Portland |
|
As you may know from my endless whining, nobody ever comes to Portland. But I just found out, Hillary is, next Friday. With the entire oregon Democratic contingent. I had completely planned on going, but it's $50 a head. So I'd be giving $100 to her primary campaign. And then spending another $100 at least on room and gas.
Better to just send a donation to Friends of John Kerry??

1. Good idea!! Personally, I don't think Hillary needs the money. |
|
Is anyone even running against her in NY. I read somewhere, that her opponent dropped out already at the request of the repub party.

2. I think it really depends on whether or not you're dying |
|
to meet Hillary and/or the Oregon folks. I mean, if that will make you really happy, go for it. If not, entertain yourself at home cheaply that night and send the $ to JK :)

3. It was an exciting thought |
|
for about 2 seconds. My Oregon contingent does town halls all the time, the only one really worth seeing is DeFazio anyway. I'd feel like a traitor the whole time I was there, giving money to Hillary when I so don't want her to run. I think I'm just going to make a donation.

4. Unless she is going to invite you out for a beer |
|
I woudl think twice about it. Are you sure she isn't doing a free event? When Sen. Kerry does these fundraisers, he usually tries to do something in the area that people don't have to pay to see. Does Sen. Clinton do this? There must be people in the area who would like to see what she has to say for herself, but can't afford or don't want to pay to see her.

We don't have free events too often. $50 is actually pretty cheap. I suppose I could email someone and ask if I can volunteer though, maybe I'll do that instead. Here's the page: https://contribute.hillaryclinton.com/events/portland.html

6. personally, i just wouldn't have much interest in going |
|
i have seen Hillary, and while she doesn't make me as angry or upset as some others, i just don't have much interest in her.
i view much of the things she says or her whole pr thing as her following Bill's advice. i find him the much more interesting type and the one i would want to question. he is very intelligent and very appealing when he gives speeches. i can see why people like him. and Hillary does not have the talent he has. she doesn't even come close. many times she makes me feel uncomfortable when she speaks just because she doesn't come across too well.
i guess this is one reason i'm not so worried about Hillary in 08. i just have some faith that if she runs and as she gets more attention and voters really start to pay attention they will support someone other than her. i'm also one of the few who thinks she wont run for pres. i view most of the support she has having more to do with her husband.
