6. You just reminded me...I haven't had a Guiness since that night!
Tomorrow, I find an Irish pub and have one and toast Senator John Kerry loud and clear!

11. ok, odd question, did Kerry get drunk or anywhere close to it ?
i'm pretty sure he didn't. but i'm trying to imagine being with him and what he would be like drunk.

it's late, i think this post shows i need to start thinking of something else.

12. NO, NO NOT AT ALL!
He came in after we had been drinking for about an hour or so. Maybe we had been drinking longer than that, I don't really remember. Anyway, JK had a couple Sam Adams (I think it was) but that's all. A couple of beers would render Chimpy incapable of eating a pretzel - JK, not so much.

13. That would have been a story I'd take to my grave.
But no, we didn't get JK drunk. I think he's too smart to get wasted in a bar with a dozen women anyway.
The rest of us were not near as well behaved.
:P

14. "The rest of us were not near as well behaved."
That's why I couldn't remember if he came in an hour after we had started drinking or more than an hour. You know what they say ... "Time flys when you're drinkin'!" Or something like that. :)

16. About that last picture
My secret dream too. Did you see Obama on MTP? Not a great interview IMHO, too cautious, and not answering the questions directly but often going on his own tangent... But I am still fascinated by him, and in spite of the obvious differences I perceive him as a younger (anybody has any idea how he is? Just curious...) JK in many ways. The same sparkling but deliberate intelligence. Look at the eyes, the expression is so much alike... silly, I know... Unfortunately, at the end of the interview Russert specifically asked him about 08, and he answered with an emphatic NO. And I believe he means it, at least for now.

19. On too early for me.
I have it recorded, and will watch later.

Yeah - I'm pretty sad. Before I go to bed on Sat nite, I set up
the recorder to catch all the Sun morning talk shows I'm afraid I'll
sleep thru.

There is something about Obama that appeals to me, and I agree, he
needs to relax more, go on his gut instincts more. Maybe Kerry can
take him under his wings.
