Just need to say to you..... THANK YOU. |
|
From the idea of an appreciative, cross-country birthday card, to the DU driven meet up at the pub, thanks to every one of you who ever posted here. Because every one of you put SOME thing into the mix that brought Kerry face to face with what so many of us wanted him to see and know. And what this country needs to save what country we have left.
Every one of you is priceless in my eyes. And tonight, these are very tearful eyes.

*sniff* Aww, blm, now I'm sniffly...
 We'll have his back - and each other's - for all time. And we'll rescue this great country, too. Mark my words. A President John Kerry will save this great nation.
No surrender.

I see names like blm and sandnsea and such fighting the good fight before I ever set, ahm, foot (okay, typing fingers) in DU. If we did some good, it's because, as they say, 'we stood on the shoulders of others.'
And don't let anyone tell ya differently. I know a warrior when I see one kiddo and, ahm, you is it. So give yourself a pat on the back, cuz, my dear, you and the others who preceeded me deserve it.
 for blm, sandnsea and everyone else who were here first and have had to 'take it' longer than I ever had to. You guys rock!
EDIT: We stood on the shoulders of others, who, ahm, could spell. Sorry about that.

The last 4+ years have been a never-ending uphill battle. What you all helped to accomplish makes every one of those days even more worthwhile.

I was busy exercising my Momly duties that night. I relied on the kindness of others. So give Vek, Fire, WEL, Rox, Whome, Levenson K (and her incredible hubby), DynamicDems, MH1, IslandBlue, GRLMGC and GlobalVillage a hand. They rock!
Oh and Vek, keep on speaking truth to power my dear lady. You do it rather well.
Okay, everyone to the bar (or bah), I'm buying!!!!!

10. But it's important that you and everyone here keeps reminding people |
|
that it wasn't only those who were able to go to Boston who made a huge difference. All of us do in our special ways.
And frankly, I'm thrilled for those who were able to go and meet them, have a beer, and all that...
But I'm especially grateful that all of us here pull together and have a warm and special place to visit and keep each others' energy up.
This is a really special group of people!

(Does this mean I lose my diplomat plates? Damn, I was just looking forward to the parking spaces. Crap.)
Everyone here is responsible for this happening. I mean that. Hey, did you read my heartfelt and truly meant posts about the precious cards? I wasn't talking to myself there. Those cards, OMG, those precious cards, for my money, sealed the deal. I think those cards are why JK came back to the pub to talk to us. We told him, as would anyone else at this forum, about DKos and the need to get out there and engage the public.
Once again, we inform each other. Remember the bad old days of, oh, last week? (Or was it two days ago? When was the last attack day anyway?) Well, we keep each other's spirits up and keep the conversation going forward. Together. Everyone contributes. Everyone's voice matters and counts. Absolutely and take that to the bank.

26. This place would have felt like an oasis back during the primaries. |
|
It certainly is a wonderful fuel stop now.
And you nailed it, ray - it's all because of the people who are here for each other and our country nearly every day. You can't BUY that kind of peace of mind and support.

for Kerry supporters all over the country (and world) to come and hang out....
Thank YOU!!!!
I was so happy when I found this group. I don't know what I would have done without this place. It was pretty rough out there in cyberspace for a while. You all have been like therapy.
And I know, without anyone saying a word, last month contributed to today.
Wow! This is such a happy day.

If it hadn't been for you, I might not even be a DU member anymore. Way back during the primaries, all the way through today, posts like yours and my fellow kerrycrats' in defense of JK kept me here and gave me hope. So thank YOU, blm :-)

I joined DU in spring of '03 and there you were fighting the good fight. I was a bit shy and very new to this type of forum and blogging. I may not have posted to you but I read all your posts, and probably passed some good info on to people on the Kerry blog where I ended up fighting the good fight.
John Kerry listens and cares we all know that but many who thought not, got a taste tonight in what we know the real John Kerry is all about.

I abso-friggin-lutely love that post on DKos. Oh man, that was great.
I'm going to have to take some basking time over here. (Everyone can come. Basking time for me is like being in one of those commercials with people at the beach, warm sun, cabana boy bringing over Corona's with limes. Ah, it's all good.)
Bask with me! (We ALL deserve it.)

blm for helping to make this forum a place to get info on Kerry as well as a safe place to discuss his work. Kos hasn't exactly been a warm friendly place for him - but I wonder if he would have felt the confidence to post a blog without our DU Kerry group meeting with him in November and encouraging his activity in that regard.

BLM and so many others in this forum blow me away with your breadth and depth in knowledge of all things JK, not to mention other areas in geopolitics. If we're talking about standing on the shoulders of others, I feel humbled on how many great minds I rely on in this forum to keep me positive and to stay engaged. I haven't been posting lately, but you can guarantee that even during busy times in my life, I check on you guys nearly every day. This forum, like JK, is a bright light shining through the abyss of today's disheartening politics. I love you guys and thanks for all of your hard work!!!

and thanks to everyone else here.
I'm kinda late jumping in here because I've been frankly, at a loss for words. Who knew on that fateful day in late October 2004 when I clicked a link for dailykos, that it would start a journey that would bring me to such a wonderful place?
This group is just tops. Thanks to you all, with your great store of knowledge as well as affection, detailed in your posts here, I've come to experience politics in a whole new way and really, probably for the first time in my life, appreciate what someone like John Kerry has to deal with, and all the strengths and courage that he brings to the struggle.
His posts at dailykos, and the responses to them, just blew me away. So many people wanted to reach out to him with appreciation, affection, and hope...it's just amazing.
So..."thanks" just doesn't seem enough. How about :grouphug: and
