1. I like the website listing.

I think it will get a lot of traffic, so, I vote for the $1K. I think the $500 is fine as well.

2. I vote $500, just because I'm not sure what the final tally (per person)

would be for the $1000 option. (Call me cheap, but it's winter and I'm only working one job right now.) I like your wording, but IMO it would be better for it to read:

but at various levels. So, about $30 each if we go for the $500 and don't get more contributors. I think we should wait a bit before deciding, there are probably some who haven't replied. We could get to the $1K level.
Of course, we will want to accept more or less. It's charity, so give what you can.

It is tax deductable, BTW. I'm sure we can each write a check to the charity and take the deduction individually. I'll get details.

7. Engraved Paver

I voted for the $500. Paver only because I'm skeptical about the "Priority Placement." Since we don't actually get to see where it is going, and that is still left up an individual or individuals in charge of this project, I'm wondering if how good the placement ends up being really depends on how much they like John Kerry. In other words: we may get crappy placement on the prime walkway if they don't like Kerry or we may get great placement in the $500. areas if they are Kerry supporters.

For wording, I like Island Blue's idea of putting JK's name first.

i was thinking we can first get the number of people who would like to contribute and then we can see how much each would give for each of the cost options. and then we can have another vote based on how much it would be for each person for the various amounts.

Although I can't donate much. My God, I am going to be really poor this year. But I'll chip in at least 25. The 500 or the 1,000 doesn't matter to me, the 1,000 would be nice if we had enough people commit. (I'll vote for the 500 on the poll just so you can easily count a total, but I'm up for whatever you all decide.)

There is no minimum or maximum amount. Just need to get an idea of how much cash we can pull together.

26. I voted for $1000 but $500 works, too

I liked IB's text. We need to make sure it's obvious that the donation is from JK bloggers not him, since $500 or $1000 is a lot of money from us, but not so much from him. Anyway, thanks for doing this, GV. It's a great cause and a nice way to show our Kerry love!!

As far as how I much I can give, I guess let's wait until we see how many people will pledge, and then you can give us the math as to how high a donation gets us to what place.

We are up to 20 contributors.

At $25, we've got $500
At $50, we can go for it.

Either way, there is NO min or max. This is just to get an idear.

Let's see what the next couple days bring. Then we can vote on the text.
