Scroll done to the bottom of this story and see the guest list for tonight (1/15.) Time to pahtay!

Edit: I just saw the dress suggestion: Creative Black Tie. WTF is that for us unsophisticated types?

5. hahahaha
We're ALL jealous.

Well, I guess TayTay and I could go over there and lurk around outside waiting for a glimpse. But we're jaded New Englanders, it's cold outside, and there's barbecued chicken in the oven :-)

On a side note, Andrea Cabral is a BC grad too. We OWN Boston politics. }(

6. I've got my parka ready and I don't eat meat...
If they stay and party really late, I might make it ontime. :)

7. I don't know, that donation is a little high for me!
$125 - $500. I don't know.
On the plus side, JK gets to rest on Beacon Hill for a couple of days and relax. Sounds like he could use it. ( days, what 8 countries. Take a breather.)

Funny how you pick up info when you are NOT looking. I was making dinner, picked up my copy of Phoenix and started perusing. Found that item. Bam!

8. If I had it laying around I'd go
Of course, I don't have it laying around, and I think Boston is somewhere in the neighborhood of a 10 hour or so drive, but dreaming is fun. I didn't have chicken in the oven, and it's cold as hell here, so why not be cold and hungry for a chance to hobnob with John. :)

I'd love to see him in person. Never have, well, yet, anyway. I'm sure the future campaign will give me the opportunity.

9. I think you will
You're in NY State, around Buffalo? (I'm so bad with geography, National Gregraphic is going to laugh when I resubscribe and say, really, what is the point.)

You will have Eliot Spitzer running for Gov next year. I dare say prominent national Dems will be trotting over to lend support to that run. You may yet see the esteemed Sen. from MA.

10. I get goosebumbs just thinking about it...
John's visit, and getting ourselves dePataki'd. We're about an hour east of Buffalo. They are at the tip of Lake Erie, and we're on Lake Ontario. I got an html book to try to educate myself. If I can figure out how, I'll scan and post a map. I am on the very slow path to computer education, but I'm in the "slow learner" section in technology. :dunce:

11. The NY Gov race is going to be fun
I am not promising you a visit (You know that) but I would ceertainly expect one. Spitzer is one of the bright and shining stars of the Dems and his race to unseat Pataki should be a lot of fun. Keep your eye on the fundraisers, check the web sites that the NY State Dems and the candidate himself puts up and look for the guest list. Even if you can't afford the fundraiser, there are always rallies and such. There is a pretty good chance that Upstate NY will get visits from lots of national Dems.

Isn't it sad that a lot of people who would have liked to have seen the Dem nominee didn't get a chance to last year. Kerry went to CA for money but not for a lot of rallies. He was seen often in the swing states, but not in NY or IL and so forth. This needs to stop. Things have to change. There has to be a better way to communicate with more voters nationally, not just the Purple Ones.

12. I think this time I'll make the pilgrimage
to see him wherever. We are not far from Ohio, and even closer to PA. I haven't heard much from the local Dem's, but I'll keep my ear to the ground.

His campaign focus was. at least I think, necessary for the times. If the election had been fair, his focus on swing states would have gotten him the WH. In fact, I think I'll brazenly venture that I think this election was actually more of a solid Kerry win than people think. I don't think it was just Ohio and Florida. My friend experienced problems voting for Kerry in Kentucky, which is very red. She was also asked for a license, which I don't think is legal.

13. This cannot be dropped
I am in the Pro-Kerry and there was fraud but I don't know how much camp. This disgusts be beyond words. (It's treason to defy the Constitution and deny the fundamental right to vote to all legally eligible voters. Treason.)

I had disagreements with folks over whether or not the pre-election factfinding in Ohio and elsewhere would affect the final electoral vote in Congress. I didn't think there was any way the Rethug Congress would allow that to happen. But I do believe election fraud occurred. It must be stopped.

14. the ACLU is actively pursuing many individual
claims of electoral issues. I know it for a fact. Obviously they can't take every case there were so many. But they have a knack for the high profile ones, and I think John's (and other's) active pursuance of examining the system, along with high-profile real cases, I think there really is going to be a public exposure of this fraud.

Being in Massachusetts, does John have a ground attack force going yet for electoral reform? Local petition signing, telephone banking, anything like that? If there is, sign me up. I signed his online petition.

15. Nothing organized yet
that I know of. (I am not the be-all and end-all of knowledge, sigh.) I will keep my eyes open. Anything, from time to money to activism that I can do, I will do.

It is possible that there are other investigations going on. (Firespirit was on the ground in Ohio. She knows some of this stuff, whereas I have only read of it.) I know the GAO is on this and they have been a great investigative arm of the government. But this takes time. I do not know what else is going on, but I have to assume that putting together a case will take time and dedication. We will all have to be patient and 'push' legislators to do things when it becomes apparent that that time has come and the evidence is there. (For unbelievers.)

I've been supporting Hillary like crazy, hopefully she'll prove my loyalty worthy and pursue it.
