I thought Reid supported this move- MSNBC says otherwise.

What nasty ugly comments and reporting. We have got to be louder and clearer. This is about fairness and balance.

Democratic Leader Harry Reid signaled as much in remarks on the Senate floor. He offered no support for Kennedy, Sen. John Kerry and others whose push for a filibuster represents a last stand against Alito’s ascension.

“There’s been adequate time for people to debate,” Reid said.

1. if that is indeed the case
Reid should step down as minority leader. He has done precious little about rallying the troops about this as it is, but to stab the two K's in the back in their effort to save our constitution is traitorous, to say the least.

2. This is no surprise
If Reid had been on board, they would have announced the filibuster a long time ago.

I am wondering about Boxer, though.

6. Front page post says someone called Kerry's office
and was told that Reid was on board.

Really hard to believe that a staffer would screw up that badly.

Some two-facedness going on here perhaps? Reid is not earning points with me, that's for sure... and I think he's going to be thrashed at dailykos, too - by the rank and file anyway. That should get interesting.

3. This is why JK had to take up the battle
Because Reid and the rest of the Dem leadership wouldn't do their jobs on this. :grr:

5. HOLD UP!
I say contact Reid, but what the hell is the media trying to pull?

The Nevada Democrat told reporters yesterday, quoting now, "There's been adequate time for people to debate."

7. Good catch... I think Reid may have been convinced today, to
not stand in the way.

8. He said the same thing on the floor today.
Does not mean he will not vote FOR the filibuster, but I doubt he wanted it to happen.
