is it possible to make it "our hero" instead of just "hero" ? i think "our hero" makes it more special and personal.

I love it. It recognizes John, all of us, and the place that brought us all together. I think when people look at the paver, they will know that people who love and admire Sen Kerry have a great respect for the brave people have fought and paid a very real price for their patriotism.
I am listening to Chris Dodd right now on C-Span2 talk about the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, how the government should be caring for these troops, and how good people like us are picking up the slack. And I am so proud that we're supporting this great effort.


Today was the first day I opened my mailbox and found your wonderful notes and MONEY.

it says the 1000 dollar pavers include a website mention. so i was wondering if it would be repetitious to include the website as part of the 4 lines of message.

Probably just a payday timing thing, but no mail to report today. :-( Just some bills and the new VS catalog. I'm guessing there will be lots to report on Monday and Tuesday.

As Sen Kerry said in his most recent op-ed, the govt is failing to support our returning troops. He is doing all he can to bring attention to this issue, but we can not wait for bush* and the republican congress to do the right thing while our vets pay the price for their inaction. This is something we can do.
It's a great opportunity to thank the injured for their service and recognize the Senator for his incredible contrbution at the same time.

It's not too late to donate to this effort.

I was worried when it dissapeared for a while. There was a very sad poem about dissapointment in Kerry over nukes and India. Then the site was gone for a couple of weeks. But it's back! And the latest poem is awesome!

I'd rather that it remain in your control so we know sure it gets to the right place! I do like blm's idear of challenging him to match the donation.

way to get his attention, since the whole point he made was that he wantedalot of people to be inspired to send whatever small amount they could afford.

Radio guys are like that - they'll eat this up.

with a short note explaining that we are people on this board who respect and admire Senator John Kerry, who we wish were President - who would likely have been far better getting the troops home, calming the middle east, gaining us friends faster than Bush is losing them and who would have submitted a budget to Congress that adequately funded Veterans' needs, making this kind of fund raising unnecessary. (After all Kerry argued for improving Veteran's health benefits when he was a 27 year old kid, who didn't need them himself as he was a healthy, upper class kid who could have ignored the needs of those less fortunate. Bush, at that age was still drunk.)
