So, I signed Teddy Kennedy's nomination papers today
The Greatest Senator Who Ever Lived (well, that's what MAss Dems call him LOL!) had a kcick-off re-election event near me today. His grand-nephew and newly minted campaign manager, was in Lowell for a kick-off event. He spoke about everything that The Senator has done for Massachusetts and how we need to show him some love in return and really help. (There was a family there who had been helping Kennedy's get elected since 1952, when the 'other Kennedy' held that Senate seat, ahm, JFK. Wow!)

Anyway, I have a great pic that I want to post in honor of the other Sen. from Mass who is working so hard for this filibuster:

The other person in the pic is my guy running for Middlesex DA. (Geez, someone I heard of worked at that office once, and I think that prosecutorial experience even got mentioned in a big speech this week. LOL!)

Oh, and I took this other pic of Matt Kennedy and some woman who said she never gets her pic taken with Mass pols. Obviously, she's a liar now.

BTW, that woman in the pic told young Mr. Kennedy to tell The Senator that she was so proud of him for sponsoring this filibuster with Sen. Kerry. She told Matt to tell his Uncle that a lot of 'bloggers' say hello and thanks!

1. Wow, Tay.
That is so great. And I can see why 'that woman' in the second pic is smiling.
Cute.

4. I will tell 'that woman' you approve.
She made quite a fuss about not getting her pic taken in NH with another Mass guy and promised she would do better when given another opportunity.

a crown of a star? That's Teddy's star. He deserves it today. (And I liked young Matt. He was nervous and such making the speech. Someone I was sitting with said that he is getting better and that his first speeches were very shy and awkward. He told some great stories about The Senator and how he views campaigns. Apparently, the signature drive is a huge, huge thing with Teddy. So I am honor-bound to fulfill my quote of 123 sigs by the end of Feb. Yes, sir, Senator, I will report for duty, sir.)

6. Yeah, another 'good un' from MA.
We do grow some 'easy on the eyes' guys. Matt is only 24! I was told that he wasn't doing anything in particular, so his Uncle asked him to be his campaign manager for '06. Yeah, that about sounds right. 'The Family' should be out and about a lot this year around here. I think it's going to be a fun year in MA politics.

12. Sweet
I'm twenty-three so he's just a year older than me. :D There's a girl I've known since childhood who lives in Boston now. I'd love to be there sometimes because of the cuties.

5. That is awesome! Great photos,
especially the one of you and young Kenndy. He's a cutie, and if he's anything like Uncle Ted, this is definitely the beginning of a love affair. :loveya:

8. I believe Uncle Ted is in DC
Burning up the cell phone lines with calls to his colleagues and to friends in the liberal advocacy groups and the press. Oh, and I bet there were quite a few calls placed between the two Senators from the Bay State. (Damn right that woman was beaming. It's been an unbelievable week. Unbelievable. Wow!)

10. Oh my goodness
that is just the sweetest thing. I am green with envy.

When you say "my guy" do you mean YOUR guy, or that that's the guy running for DA.

What an exciting day for you. I wondered where you were all day. Considering the event, and carrying some love for Teddy, you are excused. :)

11. The DA candidate is Mike Festa
I have known him for a long time. He was an Alderman in town when my husband was on School Committee. (Alderman = Selectman) We visited with Mike when he lost his first race for Rep to the Mass State House. His therapy to deal with the loss involved constructing this gorgeous and intricate garden in his back yard. He built these elaborate streams so that he could bring fish into the garden in the summer time. (They are in the aquarium in the winter.) It was a very positive way to heal from loss. (Which hurts like hell, no matter what race it is. I adore/love/drool over people who take a loss and learn to deal with it and build on it. I just adore peope like that. They inspire me.)
