I can't believe they tried to hijack my b-day thread |
|
I put another birthday thread out in General Discussion, for those supporters who don't come in here.
So what happens. Someone posts about how Kerry let him down. Another posts about not fighting.
Geez, can't we even mention his name? :eyes:

1. No. Mention of Kerry is verboten on GD unless it's derogatory |
|
Geez, LittleClarkie, you should know that by now. We can't even acknowledge that he's a nice human being who should have a happy birthday because he didn't FIGHT FOR US OMG OMG HYPERVENTILATE!!!!111
Seriously, I don't know what these malcontents would have him do: have a Nam flashback and go charging onto the White House lawn blasting his M-16 everywhere and screaming about how he's gonna take down that motherfucking traitor Bush with his sniping skills? Which might be cool, but he'd probably get shot by the Secret Service, so I'm kind of glad he decided against that course of action.

That made me chuckle, but it's probably the one thing that would satisfy them. Well, most of them. It probably still wouldn't be enough for some.

3. I saw that with the thread about him going to Iraq to meet with the troops |
|
Its how people act towards Kerry that inspired my post about eating our own. I just wish people would try to have an open mind to our own democrats and not think in black and white so damn much, and not treat them like they're horrible traitors, they aren't.

Yeah, that is about what it would take, isn't it? Ridiculous.
I'm working on getting my thoughts together for the birthday thread. I think I'm going to suggest he take a vacation, read a good book, go somewhere beautiful, sleep for a week...whatever he wants. As a rank-and-file Democrat who worked hard to support him, I not only give him my permission, I INSIST!
That should piss some people off, huh? :)

There's no point in fighting w/ them because they're so self-righteous that they think they can do no wrong or say no wrong. I assumed you'd get those malcontents posting nonsense when you posted your thread in GD. Thanks for posting it anyway, though. That was very thoughtful of you.

5. I read an article about Al Gore last year |
|
that contrasted his treatment to that of Dole. About how Dole was like "a fallen hero" who had taken a bullet for the team to the Republicans and how Gore (who really won - even my Republican relatives have started to admit that) was reviled by Democrats. Why Dems are so quick to turn on their own - I can't say. But I find it incredibly sad. And now that it's happened to a man I've supported for a long time, I find it almost intolerable.

I've noticed that kind of backbiting behavior. I don't think it serves the party at all.
