this is really immature of me, but I can't stand that JK has to touch the evil bastard's hand. It really bothers me.

Doing otherwise would likely have been turned against him badly.
But it could be worse - at least occding to the live blog - Bush hugged Durbin. I, like you wasn't watching so I hope someone misidentified a Republican as Durbin.

I saw that last night. Told my hubby that had I been JK - or any Dem, for that matter - I'd have turned around to talk to someone, bent down to tie my shoe, checked my sleeve for lint, anything to avoid having to shake that evil ape's hand.

He's no coward, and * doesn't personally scare him in the least. I remember how shocking it was during the debates to see him give * a good grip and look him straight in the eye, until * had to look away and pull his hand away! heehee.
I think a lot of our revulsion comes from being scared-- about the power he's got over country and what he might do next. Why do I think this? Because back during the election, when I was sure that JK was going to win, my feelings of hatred did start to soften a bit. I could look at him without wanting to gag. He was just a misguided little fool to me then. And I didn't hate all Repubs as much either.
