Hey, I got elected a delegate again!
It was a decidedly mixed thing. Sigh! My town had space for two female delegates. I showed up and no other woman wanted to run, so it was, ah, unanimous. (Sigh! That's what you call a mixed blessing. We need more people to show up. Dammit!)

My husband also got elected so we will be seeing the Mass Dems in June in Worcester. I will report at that time on what happens. It should be a raucous and busy convention and I should almost take the phone off the hook at the end of May (LOL! I won't though. I like getting the phone calls, shows they care.)

2. That's great, Tay!
Congrats. I can't imagine a better person for the job.
Hey, I get to meet Mr Casey next weekend and help with his petitions. I'm a little pissed at his filibuster position, but I'm still planning to put all my effort behind his campaign. Time to get to work!!!

It should be a really interesting and fun convention. I went to the issues convention last year and that was, ahm, full of issues. This year will be a nominating convention and I hope that one of the nominating speeches for Sen. Kennedy will be made by that other Sen from MA (can't think of his name, tall guy, wonderful Dem, great fun to have a beer with, ahm, it'll come to me.) The Mass State Committee promised to try and have us out on time on Sat., but it depends on how many ballots we need to get candidates over the top. (We have 4 candidates for Lt. Gov., this could require a send out for pizza late Sat. afternoon.)

I had a great day. I attended my own caucus and met Dems (in my town -- ooooh so excited.) Then I went to another nearby town's caucus to get signatures for candidates (including Uncle Ted.) I had a great time and met 3 more town Chairs, a few more active Dems and so forth. It was a great balm for the soul. I think the Gov's race in MA was upturned this week and the prior front-runner did himself great damage. All the delegates I saw were for Deval Patrick. That is 'not nothing' around here. (You can see him here: http://www.devalpatrick.com/ ) My husband and I are now Town Chairs for Patrick. (See what can happen when you show up? You get to be Town Chair for Candidate X. We were already Town Chairs for another candidate for Middlesex DA. I think I might be rather busy come the fall. Oh dear. I have a lot of parties to attend in Worcester at this Convention too.) I do hope that we get to see some folks from Sen. Kerry's office at the Con, that would be great. MassDems would get to show him some love for the Alito stance and for all the other wonderful things he does in fully representing us in the Senate. (We need to show him some love. He is a great Senator.)

Also: I am going to this event to teach me how to be a better campaigner and such. Sound slike fun. http://www.massdems.org/involved/dciform.cfm

13. Congratulations, Tay Tay!
My grandpa was a delegate for JFK '60 from Pittsfield, MA, but he didn't have the money to actually go to the convention. So, you know, I feel some kinship to you. Looking forward to your recap of the event, which will no doubt be fun and informative to read!

15. blush, blush, I will do my best to be a good Dem.
And represent my town and state well. And have a wicked good time and, quite possibly, learn something. (And please let the Tall Senator from MA give a barn-burner of a speech. Just cuz he is among friends and family and loyal supporters of many years past. Dear Lord, just please let that happen.)
