Ode to Yellow and Black
(I don't think this is quite an Ode, but I already said I can't write poetry. Anyway, congratulations GlobalVillage!)

Into the Motor City they came
Ready for battle in America’s game
Detroit was rockin’ to rhythm and blues
With Stevie and Aretha and even Mick too

Jerome Bettis and Bill Cowher
Determined to become the men of the hour
With a warrior’s might they stormed Ford Field
The quest for Lombardi they would not yield

The yellow flew
The black ran
The scores piled up
For the Steeler’s fan

A run, a pass, a Seahawk plowed
Cheers and shouts rise up from the crowd
And Super Bowl Forty is now history
With the Pittsburgh Steelers victory

2. Very nice!
I confess I was a little sad right after the game, when it occurred to me that the announcers should be mentioning how nice it was for the First Lady that her hometown team won the Super Bowl.

Sigh.

3. Do you think JK and THK were there?
I didn't watch the game, so I don't know who they showed in the stands.

4. No idea...I actually didn't get to see much either.
I saw the first couple minutes of the game, then the last few of the third quarter and most of the fourth. But I was doing stuff in between plays so didn't see much of the surrounding fluff.

I think they showed Condiliar in the beginning. I never saw them show JK or THK though, so I was wondering the same thing.

5. I wondered that too. If so, it was kept discreet.

No one said.

The game however was awesome. And because I did NOT listen to the oddsmakers, I think I won my football pool! The Steelers rocked! If anyone Tivo'd the game, just play back the two teams coming on field. That foretold the upcoming game. The Seahawks just trotted on field. But the Steelers STRUTTED with such an energy, and pride, and amazement they were even there...like kids on Christmas morn.

And as a one-time hometown gal, they sure made me proud! REAL proud! And all of the 'Burgh as well!

6. This is just wonderful and much appreciated.
The Pittsburgh area is my current adopted home and I was pulling for them too.

9. Did you see them after the game?
I tried to find a pic of the two cuties, dad and son, but couldn't.
