Senate Foreign Relations Comm Hearings: Full Slate this week
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 08:20 AM by TayTay
Okay, I post these hearings schedules and I can only hope that someone reads them and then watches (fragments?) of the hearings I mention. I know, I know, there is a chance of a George Allen sighting at these hearings and that is enough to put anyone off their lunch and induce nausea. But sometimes you have to do things for the good of democracy and the American Republic. And there are some really good hearings this week in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. (Honest, I read about this and my little geeky heart went all pit-a-pat, pit-a-pat.

So, watch some of them already. (I have a test all made up and this does count towards your final grade, you know.)

For Sen. Barfbag, cuz he just is the most awful and dumbest member of the Senate, (except for Santorium.)

We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

(Does anyone read my postings here at all? I can't be the only geek here. It's so lonely.)

For the love of Gawd, this one is tailor made for a really, really good Senator to show up and ask some really really good questions about where this Admin has dropped the ball. (Unless that someone is at the King funeral, but I don't know about that.)

New Initiatives in Cooperative Threat Reduction: Oh my Goodness, I wonder if those warrant-less searches by the NSA will come up. That is just a tad controversial. Gee, that might be good for a question or two.

4. I read, but these "upcoming committee hearings" usually bum me out
because I have to work and usually can't watch them, and there will almost never be a video available, and I don't have a PVR set up yet (one day...)

But I do like to read the highlights when you or others post them!

Also, you can get the live feed on C-Span's web site and at the Senate Judiciary site.

This is the good stuff! This is where you get to see 'our Senator' shine and take out the bad guys! What more could you ask for. (I'm getting the vapors just writing about it.)

6. Kick! Iraq Stabilization and Reconstruction hearing Wed. 2/8
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 09:18 PM by TayTay
Please come and watch. I can't do this alone. Not with Allen and Coleman there. It's too much to ask of one frail, weak and mousy little woman. I need help here.

Please watch and I won't write any more bad poetry. Please!

Better late than never, right?

I read them, and please do keep posting. I just haven't felt like commenting much the past week or so.

Did I miss any JK? Just came on in time for Biden's apology.

13. Not sure if Kerry is there
He hasn't spoke yet. I was listening rather than watching because I was moving some posts over to support Prosense's Clean campaign thread ("amazing" here) over in the big forum.

15. Haven't seen or heard JK yet
But some people are habitually late or working in the office and come over only when necesary. (He can watch this in his office, same as we can, and go over to the hearings at need.)

16. Sigh, no JK
But a lot of good points were made, that some Sens have made before. Iraq needs security in order to rebuild. Iraq needs to get jobs and basic services up in order to attract donors, etc. Round and round and round it goes, where it stops nobody knows. Sigh!

19. I use the mute function on my remote frequently when watching C-Span, but
I'd really like to have black dot option on my television: a feature that would allow the viewer to push a button and put a large black dot over a selected area of the screen (say, Allen's mouth). A feature where you can play with a control that lets you distort the screen in selected areas (the face of Allen, Stevens, Frist, etc.)would be nice also. It would sure make watching C-Span a whole lot more fun. It would also be less stressful than screaming at the television screen, not that I do that...often. O8)
