1. There's not much you can do
It's hard to change people's minds. Just be secure in the fact the majority of people aren't like that.

2. they don't even know the record of many of them
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 12:59 AM by JI7
for example we saw all those anti harry reid posts as soon as we heard he would be senate leader (for those who know anything it should not have been a surprise as he was whip) . but most of these people don't even know that reid helped to block many judges. even daschle helped do this and of course it hurt him in the election since he was seen as an obstructionist.

a lot of these people love robert byrd also, but byrd doesn't have that great a record on some things. i remember he said people who don't believe in god should leave the country when that court ruled the pledge unconstitutional because of the "under god".

4. That Byrd quote really got me going wtf
and a lot of these people are athiests too. Byrd also isn't too hot on gay issues if I recall. Yeah it wasnt a suprise to me that Reid became leader because he was whip.

3. We need a platform
I was watching Nancy Pelosi earlier today. She did a good job going after Rummy on Abu Ghraib and the body armor and his response to those troops. Then they asked her a question about SSI and she didn't come out with a Democratic plan. She said she was going to go to the table, ask the tough questions, but without any preconceived ideas. She offered no SSI plan of our own.

Maybe it's like a family. If you've got your kids busy doing something, they don't have time to complain so much. Maybe if we had a platform that people could get behind, they wouldn't have time to complain so much. I don't know. I do know I'm tired of all the bashing too though.
