I understand now why I was finding GD and GDP readable these last few days |
|
I had all the idiots on ignore. I decided to stop ignoring a bunch of people and clearly I have to put them back on ignore again.

Speaking of GD, it has finally happened: they found a reason to bash Boxer. I knew this day would come eventually, because no real live human being can possibly live up to their divine standard of purity. Also, whether or not you want Cindy Sheehan to run for the Senate appears to be the new "progressive" litmus test. Apparently I'm a DLCer now. :evilfrown: How can I ever possibly live with my wretched corporate sellout self?

2. Who cares where Sheehan stands on issues other than |

the war and hating Bush. It seems these are the two only necessary tests to be a progressive Democrat these days.
But yes, I had to laugh at the thread concerning Boxer.

5. Amazing, Years of steadfast progessivity as for naught |

because she won't support Sheehan who outlived her welcome with most of the country months ago. I stayed off that thread because I really think that while she initially was symbolic of people suffering great losses for a useless war, she has bought into her own PR and feels she is qualified to speak abrasively on everything.
It bothered me after it was announced that Kerry would meet with her, that people would judge him by her decision. It didn't surprise me that she said he was ok after meeting with him. He is compassionate, had his own anti war past, genuinely does care about the soldiers and he would likely hear her out, but he clearly wasn't going to suddenly call for US out of Iraq. But it bothered me when she really lashed out at Hillary.

4. What's with the fixation on royalty? |
|
The frame is that Boxer gave an order, stated emphatically to the voters to fall in line with her thinking.
No, it was an opinion. Bush is tearing away at our democracy and these people are busy promoting the silencing of everyone with an opinion. One has to make a distinction between opposing an ideology, rhetoric and spin versus opposing an opinion. It's getting crazy around here.
