Interesting article about Cam Kerry
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 10:43 AM by whometense
in a local magazine. It's not available online, so I'm going to take the liberty of quoting whatever I think you would enjoy.

When campaigning for your brother, which of his attributes do you most vigorously champion?

His tenacity and determination. There's nobody I'd rather have by my side in a tough situation.

2. Thanks for posting - Cam seems like a really nice guy in his own right.
He sounded a lot like JK on the election - though I don't think JK ever spoke of the Catholic church.

3. nice article

I still can't understand that married women voted for *. I'm a married woman and I still can't understand it. Do they mean the ones with little kids? Cause I just don't get it at all. Anyone who's ever been married to any man should be a better judge of men than to trust the lying fool who passes for our president. I mean, his character flaws are just so glaring! Would you let a man like him pick you up in a bar? Shudder! I sure wouldn't!

5. Remember that one wacky article
That said John Kerry was the flighty artistic first husband, and Bush was the strong reliable second husband. Maybe you have to have dated an abusive asshole to recognize one, and maybe that says more about me than those married women who voted for Bush, I don't know. But I could see that smarmy bullshit coming from a mile away too.

6. LOL--reverse that!
Bush is the abusive, beligerent alcoholic first husband, and Kerry is the one you wish you'd met first! Flighty? My god no--he's a solid rock of dependability. Chimpy is the one you never can count on in a pinch. When the worst happens, he cuts and runs--and then blames somebody else for it! He's also the one who will screw up the checkbook, run up the credit cards, and forget to put gas in the car!

9. I don't get it either
He isn't that good looking and Kerry seems more romantic and touchy with Teresa. I love how they are together compared to George and Laura. I have read that George and Laura only knew each other ninety days before marrying. How strange. Kerry has such a better personality as well and he really does care for people. Here in my town about a day or so before the election a local news affiliate (I THINK ABC) did a poll on women voters and Kerry won by like two/three percent.

14. "the lump in the bed"
Yeah, that charms me every time. I don't know how I could have missed the obvious affection when George said it about Laura.

I'm not exactly sure of how it all works out, but women have to win by a bit more than 2-3% to make up for the completely lopsided white male vote. I'm pretty sure Kerry won the female vote, just not be the numbers Gore did in 2000.

4. Such good people
How cute that his wife can't watch John debate. I'm more the kind that can't stand not watching, but I sure relate to the anxiety from when my boys played sports. They are truly an inspiring family, we should have seen so much more of that in the campaign. I will always wish I could ask those in the know about several decisions made, the family focus being one and not putting a hard challenge on the Church stuff is another. We saw the family, but I don't think we got to really know the family. Too bad.

11. But it got even sillier with Scarborough
speaking of which man you could count on to protect you - he seemed to mean to conjure an image of someone living on the fronteer having to fight off nostile people. That he could say this with the country KNOWING Kerry was a war hero is beyond crazy.

What if George's buddy, Dick was around ?- excellent marksman that he was.

12. Nixon, Reagan, Bushies = Pretenders
Who would you toss the house keys to? Not Nixon, Reagan or either of the Bushies, and certainly not to Dick Cheney. You'd have to be nuts to trust your family to any of these people.

15. Boy, do I agree.
By now I've met JK, Cam, Peggy, and Diana, and they are all like JK in that they are warm, intelligent, aware and lively people. Of course we know we can say the same of THK and Vanessa and Alexandra as well. It makes me sick to think what a first family we lost out on. What ambassadors they would have been for us, out in the world...

None of the above qualities are present to the current crop of pretenders and their families, needless to say.

Wasn't he talking about running for something there for a while? I wish we could get them on board with election fraud. :(

18. Thanks for posting. Cam seems like a really good guy.
The portion of the article that you posted says "Continued from page 25". Is there any other groovy catnip on page 25? This nation really missed out on having an incredibly interesting extended First Family. When will we ever learn?

19. I got busy at work ;-)
I'll see if there's more good stuff tomorrow.

Would you like to see the stuff that's about Cam only? I tried to pick out the parts that were about JK as well, but I'd be happy to post more if there's interest. It's a magazine focused on people who live in my town, and that's why it's about him (not that he doesn't deserve his own article, mind you.)

20. I wouldn't mind seeing more of it.
I think stuff like this helps to give us insight into what makes JK tick, even if it's not directly related to him (no pun intended). So yeah, if you have a chance, I'd love to see more. (Also, any time I see just part of something I always wonder what I'm missing. I think maybe I'm just strange that way. )
