Tierney, Kerry Fight for Tougher Child Pornography Penalties
February 17th, 2006 @ 5:52 pm

Congressman John F. Tierney (D-Salem) and Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA) recently introduced “Masha’s Law” (H.R. 4703), a companion legislation to S. 2155, introduced in the Senate by Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA).

The legislation would require “tougher penalties for downloading child pornography off the internet. Currently, an individual who illegally downloads music faces penalties that are three times greater than a person who downloads images of child pornography.”
