On Monday, he e pressured Rice to respond to questions regarding a claim that the U.S. cannot achieve oil independence.

On Tuesday, he introduced a resolution to end $7 billion in government subsidies for big oil.

On Wednesday, he completely discredited Bush's health care plan and explained in detail why it won't work.

On thursday, he introduced legislation to give troops a combat pay raise and took aim at White House efforts to silence scientists at NASA.


On Friday, he introduced legislation that he co-authored with barbara boxer to open up new spectrums in wireless broadband.

What more, exactly, do you want the man to do?

It's pretty cool. He collects press releases from several Dems. That's how he had the info for his post on Kerry. It's encouraging that he went out of his way to defend Kerry, too, when there were others being slammed that would be more popular to defend at dailykos.

5. People don't think about

what they're saying. This post is in reponse to another poster, who has just posted a comment about not being able to get all worked up about oil royalties.

Those oil royalties could provide all the funds for LIHEAP.

(ahem...self-censored) poster. Ratings appreciated.

But, that is one of those who choose every opportunity to bash Kerry and whoever else they feel pissy about that day. Posting a reply to those assholes is only valuable to inform other readers...the poster being replied to is certainly not likely to adjust their own thinking one iota, no matter how many facts you give them.

12. Great diary, but I have a question

In the comments, someone mentioned that no Republican senators or congressmen/women are posting on redstate or freeperville. Is this true? I just assumed that they had going on over there what we have going on on our side of the fence. If they're not posting, well then, this will be the first time that we Dems can boast on doing something organizationally first!!! Maybe this is our turning point -- we can brag to the cons that WE get to talk to our pols (including insulting them if we want) and they don't. Maybe in this "darkest hour" it's really just before the dawn (you know Crosby, Still, Nash, and Young from "Long Time Gone" -- "And you know, the darkest hour/ Is always just before the dawn").

Just wondering if someone can verify this.
