Kerry. God thats part of why I fled. I don't feel guilty for admiring the junior senator of Massachuetts, hell if we had more democrats like Kerry through out the last two decades, I think the party would be in better shape than it was with the third way of Clinton. Sorry to any Clinton fans here but I am not a fan of the third way philosophy, I am not a fan of the purist way either, but somethin in between, I call progressive realism which I feel Kerry, Kennedy, Durbin, and other great senate democrats display. I wish I could have half the senator that John Kerry is in Virginia, people call him bushlite, puhlease, when you realize your red state roots like I have, I'll tell you what bushlite is, and John Kerry is not it. :toast: to John Kerry, a hero and a damn good man.

1. Remember how I posted that the bashing doesn't bother me
anymore? That wasn't true I guess. I have typed out several "fuck you" responses to the motherfuckers but I stopped myself before I sent them. GAHHHHHHHH

2. I put two vicious freeper types on ignore tonight
One of them was horrible. Skull and Bones, coward, traitor, all that jazz. I would've alerted but I wasn't sure how to state my complaint.

It makes me want to cry sometimes

27. I didn't worry about how to state the complaint, I just did it
Alerted two just now. One is marching up and down the rice thread having a gay old time leaving snarky one-liners about Kerry's chess game.

The other keeps dragging the same question across threads "Is Kerry gonna vote for Condi? Is he? Is he?" Like we're gonna know.

So yeah, the alert button is my friend tonight.

28. i don't think that is against the rules
alerting for some of that wont do much since it's allowed.

that's why i said it's better just to not respond to them since it just gives them another chance to reply and continue doing what they do.

3. Its not just bashing honest
Its convential for them to bash a democrat. One of my finest hours I think was when I defended Dick Gephardt, the person said he was a DINO and a bushlite, I said uhhh the man may have been dead wrong to side with Bush on the Iraq War Resolution but you look at this record, and you'll see a man who fights for working people. I like Gephardt, hell I wouldn't mind a Gephardt group, people are wrong to equate him with Lieberman who I am not a fan of but Gephardt and Lieberman are different. I defend often times the least popular dems on the board, and Ive studied these people's records, they're good people with good intentions.

7. oh yeah they did
sorry, I forgot to mention the conclusion. So I gave this guy shit for saying that because I am a big person when it comes to organized labor, former union member, unions are a big thing to me, and he was like ok, youre right. It felt good though he didnt totally back then. I think the purists or lefty freepers as you guys call em use hyperbole.

11. funny thing is they attack Kerry for voting for NAFTA
while supporting a guy who also supported NAFTA but bash Gephardt who opposed NAFTA.

so you can't take their criticisms of attacks seriously because it's not honest. it was one thing when they criticized IWR vote itself but when they start using that to attack his entire record which is better than the record of the person they support then they are just looking to bash.

9. JK is heroic and unique.
He is bipartisan, but not Clinton third way baloney. Never, never truly believed that he was/is wishy-washy. Extraordinarily intelligent, gallant, polite, good husband, good father, etc., etc.
He continues to work hard for GLBT and women rights in MA and USA.
As a bi woman, I include him, Dean and Kucinich as members of my family.

12. He's not a member of the third way I know
Hell, I read he reluctantly voted for welfare reform, I know he's also an opponent of the death penalty, Clinton I read excuted a retarded man while he was running for president. Ive studied the case here in Virginia that made the US Supreme Court, it was a split, we had some of the class dems.

Awhile ago, I saw someone say that Kerry was for the death penalty. I wanted to say, "Are you fucking stupid or do you just not do your homework"

Off-topic I know but I'm in a pissy mood tonight!

23. He opposed it all in circumances back then
I remember reading in Paul Alexander's "The Candidate", Kerry said to Weld in a question "What do you tell the widow of a police officer who has been killed", Kerry says well Ive seen killing and I feel killing is wrong.

29. I happen to have that book from the library
here is what he said:

"I know something about killing," he said, a reference to his combat duty in Vietnam that caused a hush to fall over the crowd. It was an honest, unsettling comment--the sort most politicians never make. "I don't like killing," he went on. "I don't think a state honors life by turning around and sanctioning killing." When Kerry was finished, Weld had no response. It may have been the turning point in the race.

24. Hey, elshiva, I agree with you
...and I like your name. :) Does it refer to the god Shiva?

Also a bi woman, and I, too, like all three. Don't know if there's any correlation, but, hey, thought it worth the mention. :)

31. Thanks,
Elshiva is my own "Hinduization" of my Jewish name, Elisheva. It honors both Shiva and El, a Jewish name for God, that shows up in many Biblical names like Israel and Michael. I am Jewish-Episcopalian who honors all of God's many names.
Great to know another bi woman who likes Kucinich, Kerry, and Dean. All three are quite excellent, deeply respectful and spiritual men. I guess that makes them attractive.

25. I've been having fun posting one-liner disruptions in the bashing threads
I figure if they can surf around looking for positive Kerry threads to crash, turnabout's fair play.

I've got a little over 50 posts to go 'til 1,000; maybe I'll spend 'em all fighting the pro-Kerry fight. :)
