I needed that. Just finished writing a longish blog post about the hearings, and it's nice to see John smiling.
Now I'm busy mentally editing that vile woman out of the two bottom pictures.
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
My very first bouncers, for how proud I am of our guy today.
And a big big :P to the insulters.

I love that first one. I wish we could have seen more of that on the news during the campaign.
I wonder if he had to wash that hand with industrial strength "Evil-Be-Gone" after shaking her hand. Yuck!

5. Kerry always elegant, eloquent, |
|
the bottom photo is from Dick Cavat (sp?) with O'Neill thankfully edited out. Very appropriate here in a thread about those who support war criminals (O'Neill, Rice). Saw a clip of the show with O'Neill where Kerry listed war crimes in Vietnam and said they were against the Geneva Convention, which caused a lull. Then Kerry asked O'Neill, "You have heard of the Geneva Convention, haven't you?" Classic.

didn't he have a huge notebook full of papers with him for the O'Neill debate? I know he did one other Cavett before that, so maybe this pic is from that one.

15. I made a mistake before about the photo. |
|
Very quick to admit my mistakes nowadays since Dubya won't admit his... In the above photo he looks like John Cleese did during the 1970s.

and that great big watch. Oh........dear! That smile is so sincere. I never thought I'd have a political hero, and I used to think people were a little nuts about John Kennedy. (I was born during Johnson's admin, so I wasn't around for the first JFK). I even have a couple of differing views than him on a couple of items I consider important. The difference with John is he cares, he'd listen to those concerns and weigh them. Even if he doesn't change his mind, he treats everyone like they matter.

I'm a little bummed tonight, but am glad he voted 'Nay' on Rice tonight.

But we'll all just have to keep on fighting until we can take the country back from these oppressors.
I read a commentary in the Atlantic talking about how the Dems have to stop campaigning like Clinton did, because it doesn't work anymore, or maybe never did-- that Clinton's personality was what helped him win. (and Perot helped steal votes from Bush I)
So moving to the center and trying to please the middle ground doesn't work, and makes a candidate seem like he/she doesn't stand for anything. All eight of the candidates that Clinton campaigned for lost, it went on to say.
So I guess my point is that the Dems are going to probably regroup and restrategize now, and figure out what their "brand" stands for, and hopefully stand by it--and can start to win again. Meanwhile the GOP is busy self-destructing, thanks to the Neo-cons--and that will be a good thing for us too.
More than anything, I blame the lies and smears they threw at JK. They did it to Max Cleland, and they did it to John McCain, and they did it to Al Gore. When are we going to learn how to neutralize it? That was a big problem. We need a clear message, and we need to figure out how to best react to the negative attacks. We have the money now, at least.
oh well, just a little introspection. I'm happy with what JK threw at Condi today, anyway! He had all the angles.

I just got the George Butler book about Kerry in the mail today - lots of great photos, this one included. It was taken on a trip to Butler's farmhouse in NH immediately after Kerry lost his first campaign.
