:banghead: Why do people defend anyone who is opposed to the Bush administration, goddamnit I hate Bush just as much as any liberal but does that many we should defend tyrants. Left wing, right wing tyranny, theological tyranny, etc it's all the same bullshit. Tyranny is tyranny after all. Sorry I am just frustrated as hell when people are willing to defend anyone just because they are opposed to Bush. Just venting some here.

1. it's what happens when people form limited black/white views of the world

the worst thing about it is they seem to feel that Bush has to be so horrible and evil in order for it to be ok for them to dislike, hate , oppose him.

Bush doesn't need to be anotehr Hitler in order for us to oppose him. there can be a few issues where Bush may be right on and he would still be a horrible president or person.

2. What infuriates me and I mean waht really infuriates me

is how they think they are better informed than the so called sheepie yet they're just as wrong as what they hate about Bush, they see the world in black and white terms, its absurd. You're right Bush doesn't have to be anotehr Hitler to oppose him, I mean I think he's the worst prseident since Calvin Coolidge but I don't think he's Hitler and he doesn't need to be Hitler for me to oppose him. We have a responsiblity as liberals to oppose tyranny whether it is left wing or right wing, tyranny is still tyranny after all. The double standards some people have make me vomit.

3. They lack

reasoning and common sense. To debate them is like debating a brick wall. If they only stood back and saw how stupid their arguments come across.

I have never liked Bush, but he is not Hitler, now he may share one common trait with Hitler's regime, and that is brainwashing people. Many things that happened back then are happening now, but not the atrocities that Hitler committed.

You are not going to believe this but my cousin's husband's name is Calvin Coolidge, I always wondered what his parents were thinking when they named him. LOL

4. Thats hilarious

Calvin Coolidge is one of my least favorite presidents because his policies caused the depression, it is my opinion as someone who has a good understanding of the 20th century presidenicies that Coolidge deserves more blame than Hoover for the depression. In my opinion Hoover was there at the wrong time and his biggest problem in my opinion is that he was in the 19th century mindset on federal aid to the less fortunate, he was a sincerely caring man if you know about his humanitarian days from the first world war meanwhile Coolidge in my opinion was an uncaring bastard.
No, doubt people are ignorant and to a degree brainwashed like they were back then but the same could be said about many nations.

5. Very true

it can be said of many nations. My 25 year old son, is not only scared about this country but what is happening around the world. The thing is as he puts it, is that between the atrocities like in Africa to the natural disasters, it is the poor who are effected most, and that nothing is being done to really help. He just is really scared about the future of the world on a whole. As a mother it makes me sad that in the 21st century my kids and the kids of this country and the world have to bare all of this.

6. Right on

I'll check your son's music when I am done watching the baseball game. It really is tragic honestly, whats been going on in Sudan, New Orleans, etc to teh poor is the ultimate tragedy. Everytime I read here about say Kerry doing something that is technically considered small like say the Vets Bill of Rights, makes me feel proud that I support this guy because although the activists dont pay attention to it, its stuff like that really matters. My best frined from childhood is joining the 82nd Airborne soon and he will need to use something liket this to help him readjust to life when he comes home.
