JK on Franken today?
I swear I just heard a preview of today's show and Al said he'd be talking to JK. Feel free to correct me -- I don't have time to check right now!!!

6. Nice. I love Kerry on Ed Schultz. They just seem to get on well.
And shouldn't you be packing? When do you leave and how long do I have to wait to talk to you again. (I hate it when people leave. I get so lonely.)

7. I just finished.
I leave at 4:00. I am really going to miss you guys and all the exciting stuff that's likely to happen over the next few days. I'm torn between trying to keep up with news while there and get the European perspective of what's going on and just forgetting the whole thing for a week.
The protests in Paris are on the front page of the Post Gazette this morning. I wonder how it really looks. I really doubt that it's as widespread as what we're seeing. We'll see...
I'll be back next Friday (14th)with lots of pics.

Take care, all.

8. Oh for goodness sakes woman, take a vacation
We all need time to refresh. The world will be here when you get back. For goodness sakes, it's Paris. Have some fun, eat some baguettes, watch the world go by and dont' riot.

I will miss you and await your stories next week!

10. Have a wonderful tijme.
You should just be in Paris and forget all about US politics to the extent that it's possible.

I'm thinking of packing a Kerry button for my trip.

11. Have a great time in Paris!
I'm looking forward to your pics.

Stay safe. :grouphug: (Hopefully that's an unnecessary admonishment, but still.)

btw I'm cruising on The New War, just reading it on the evening train ride, and it's quite readable and right on target so far. Not that I ever doubted, but it's even better than I'd expected. (I mean c'mon, who ever reads books written by Senators, anyway?)

23. If it's anything like Germany, the Iraq War is a far away war that has
NOTHING to do with the Europeans, and is reported as so. I get Deutsche Welle here, and sometimes to take a break, I only watch their news for a week. Although Iraq is reported on nearly on a daily basis, the world doesn't revolve around that war like it does here. I guess the comparison would be the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. When something happens there, we watch it, but it's not personal for most of us. That's how Iraq plays in Germany. When I was there last summer, it was a great mental vacation, only seeing the world from the German perspective for a while. Their own unemployment is a million times bigger story than terrorism or Iraq is.

is lending fuel to occupation
we're in the middle of a civil war
not unlike Jack Murtha's plan

19. Must immediately convene summit
I've never seen such anemic diplomacy in my life. This is just an absence of leadership that I find absolutely stunning.

26. If you can't get AAR, you can stream it from the internets.
I listen to this station out of Boston just because it makes me feel closer to all of our peeps up there. (Silly I know, but still.) DU also has links to other stations on the Latest page.

I missed JK on Franken today though because I couldn't be near my computer when he was on.
