This forum's been pretty dead lately |
|
Where has everybody gone? Granted, I haven't been posting a storm either. I just don't like to see our lovely John Kerry forum sitting idle for so long.
Not that I have anything relevant to talk about...
Uh...
John Kerry is AWESOME!
Ten days till Christmas!

I had visions of saving the world for a minute there. Was there ever an election where losing felt like somebody died?
And then to listen to people make fun of that depression as if it were funny.
And then to watch half the board bust the chops of Kerry for losing, for not being Dean, for not being as involved as people think he should be, for every danged RNC talking point, plus the old Bonesman conspiracy theories.
On another unrelated note, of course it's getting close to Xmas, so I suppose some are busy at the moment.
And we're getting close to the inauguration, so that's depressing too.

I've been reading and agreeing with your posts and others' in this group. I just became a donor and got my star, so now I can post here, too!
I'm another JK fan--he's the first candidate in a long time that I totally trusted and felt like working for, and I did work for the last two months for our local campaign headquarters here in Wisconsin. Right now the only other one I'd say I fully trust is Jimmy Carter.
Losing the election does feel like a death--because it is the death of a particular vision, one where John Kerry would be president and begin to fix what's wrong with this country. So it's been hard to take, and I've been depressed like so many of you have. The cure is to find a way to hope that things will be able to get better through other means. Already, there seems to be a conspiracy to get Rumsfeld out. But the war against Bushco isn't going to be easy.
In a way, though, knowing that the election was stolen, again, lets me still believe in America as a whole--that we haven't really bought the party line being fed to us by the media. Small comfort, maybe, but it's better than feeling like we are an alien species in our own country. The only reason Bush has been and (probably) will be president in the next term is because they were crooks: 1) a dirty, lying, smearing campaign 2) deliberate voter suppression 3) election fraud--rigging the machines 4) post-election spin about "values" to confirm Bush in the minds of the public.
John Kerry was a great candidate, as was Al Gore. But the system needs to be fixed. I'm never going to blame the victims, only the perpetrators.

The excitment and optimism grew as election day drew closer - then the night of November 2 it was like running full speed into a brick wall. I had to call in sick the next two days - I couldn't leave the house. It was so jarring, I've never experienced such a drop in mood like that before.
I think this forum is quiet at the moment because we haven't heard much from John Kerry. But we will, soon enough. :)

I think that everyone is getting a little burnt out. This is an emotional roller coaster. It is discouraging at times, and there are a lot of people out there that jump at every chance to trash John Kerry.
It is so obvious to me that Kerry and Edwards are intimately involved in exposing this fraud, and representing our interests. John Kerry wants to be President for all of the right reasons. If there is any chance left for that, I know he will take it.
Have you noticed that every move Kerry makes, everyone hoots and hollers, and is satisfied for a day, then it is back to trashing him again. I find that so annoying and immature. Are people really flip-flopping so easily, or is it just different people chiming in?
Anyway, I think it is vitally important to make sure that people know that there are loyal supporters out there. It is important that we support each other because this is going to be a long and exhausting fight. When people become discouraged and angry, they will stop fighting, and we can not let that happen.

I agree with everyone who responded - yeah, I'm pretty depressed, too. Like LittleClarkie, I cried like someone had died - cried more than I think I may have in a long, long time. I just love John Kerry so damn much, and dammit, he DESERVED it. And so did we.
But, the reason I made the post is because I DO rely on the soldiarity and bond we have here in this group. It's so heartening to know that there are kindred spirits in here who share the same hope and idealism and love for America that I do, and who realize that John Kerry is one of the noblest, most honorable statesmen we have.
And where is AngryDemocrat? If you're lurking out there, please continue with your bio posts. I may not comment on every one, but I enjoy them immensely. I was planning a huge comment for when you were finished. :D

I'm Back! I 'm glad to see that everyone is reading my post. I was wondering if people might be getting aggravated with them because they are long. But when you write about a man like John Kerry it is hard to make it short. Very hard. I will continue on with them because I enjoy doing it. You guys no how to make a person feel good. Its nice to know I was missed. I love you guys to.:grouphug:
Like a dummy I have been out in the other forums fighting all the naysayers. I don't know why I put myself through all that but I do. But I'm going to stay in here for now. Once again I have had enough of all the naysayers.

13. Yeah, my favorite (not) was the Cobb thread |
|
What's Cobb's deal? Does anyone know how credible Cobb is?
What he's saying just doesn't jibe with what has been going on otherwise.
Is the dude grandstanding?
I refuse, simply refuse to believe what he's saying about John Kerry.
Sounds like he's biting the hand that feeds him.

What is up with all the Cobb shit? That shit didn't make any since to me? I didn't see the article you guys arre talking about but I'm glad I wasn't over there it would have been fight after fight with the naysayers. So I don't know the details of the letter but from what I was filled in om it was pure BS! I'm telling I don't care what all these assholes try to tell me about Kerry I for one can tell you that I have studied and watched this man for years long before he ever ran for president and I know the man is a fighter! When it comes to Kerry They are telling there shit to the wrong woman because this is one woman that knows quite abit about the man and it didn't start yesterday. This Cobb guy sounds as if he needs a cobb rammed up his ass!

16. Indeed, you can tell the naysayers never took a good look at Kerry |
|
There was as much prejudice against him on the far left as there was on the far right. And they're both about as connected to reality.
The Bonesman theory shows all by itself that they don't know what they're talking about.
I've only been around since June, Kerry-wise, but I have done alot of reading.
I think things like questioning the pro-choice stance and Affirmative Action show that he's more concerned with the truth than with toeing the liberal party line in all cases. I think that's healthy. I only wish more people didn't react with a knee jerk. Think people think.
Dang, first he's criticized for not finding a unified message, then he's criticized for not covering someone's pet issue properly. Dude can't win.

It was the same all through the primaries. Bash, bash, bash, and then "where's John Kerry, we need him to fix x,y,z". Idiots, they have no friggin' clue. Join the right's bashes on him, then wonder why he had such a hard time breaking through.

Cobb is in this for Cobb, and it saddens me. He has made a huge advance for the Green Party with the election recount challenge. With the Kerry campaign as co-plaintiffs, and poised to take over...
I have to admit, I know Kerry, and I do not know Cobb. I place my trust in John Kerry. Cobb's remarks were totally over the top. In fact they were factually false. Kerry does not have the 50+ million. He donated it to the DNC.
