3. Hey Tay -- yeah his schedule reminds me of Mrs. Doubtfire
at the end of the movie when he is supposed to be at dinner with his family as Mrs. Doubtfire and then running in as himself to have a business meeting. I have not a clue how he's going to be at what was that -- 3 meetings at the same time. Guess they try to schedule when he has to speak at different times?

Just wanted to compliment your quote at the bottom of the page. I love that quote as well as the other one about us being so weak that we have to sacrifice all of our values to win.

4. I remember that someone in speaking of how
Kerry missed many (Intelligence ?)Committee meeting as proof he was an absent Senator. Just printing out a day like this could explain that for people. (Unless those clones are available - but wouldn't the Senator then be called on appearing in 2 places at the same time.) Or he could run between them.

5. SBA committee agenda is not up
Therefore it is not possible to tell if this is another chance for a 'Hector Barreto fricasse.' Sigh!

I do love these SBA hearings. This is not my best side, but those are the most entertaining hearings in Congress. Kerry vs. Hector is a mismatch of the highest order and a great deal of fun to watch or listen to. Cuz, ahm, it's important and the issue is vital and ahm, oh heck you caught me, it's just a wipeout every day time.

6. Excellent point karynnj!
And I wonder to what extent the party in control will purposefully play a game with the schedule to create these situations, so as to off-foot the leaders of the opposition.

This is the stuff of politics that the average person has no clue about.

7. The main bill before the US Senate is on funding the war
and providing relief for Katrina victims.

That is a huge red flag. The distinguished Senator from MAssahcusetts just gave a barn-burner of a speech announcing clear opposition to the war and his desire that the Admin make plans that will, in the end, result in US troops being withdrawn from that theater of operations.

The matter before the Senate this week, with multiple chances for speeches, multiple chances for e-mail communications between Senators and constituents and supporters is this bill.

Do the math. Perhaps there are some 'friends' of ours in the lefty circles who might use this as an occasion to wonder how the good Senator from MA will vote this week, given his speech this past weekend.

The business before the Senate this week is the funding of the War in Iraq. That should be highly interesting, all things considered, don't you think?

8. I think it's even very well informed people
I remember that when I read it, the answer given was that staff will attend some meeting when the Senator couldn't be there adn that it was normal. In retrospect, the response should have been that Senators are on multiple committees and they will likely have over lapping meeting. Then they should take a list annotated just like Tay Tay's post and append it to their response.

Anyone here has seen Kerry come into a meeting late and when he spoke, appologize for missing the first part but say his staffers showed him what was covered.

9. It is a great point! If the way they
switch times in the middle of a hearing is any indication, they are a bunch of partisan hacks.

They may get wise to us though, if they keep getting requests from the same people all the time. :-)

12. I wish I could find the source for this--
I had just jotted down the time on a slip of paper. I should clarify that JK is just one of a whole list of people invited to weigh in on the issue--the one I can't remember! Middle age is a pain!
