1. I have listened 4 times
and will probably watch over and over. From the young Captain, to the eloquent Mrs. Droz Keyes to our man, each one brings such a strong message, and to me everyone should hear it. They speak truth and truth is what is needed so badly now.

2. The man sure knows his history
As a student of history I love it. Was quite impressed by him quoting Robeft Taft.

3. My son is a history teacher
he watched it with me on Sunday. He agrees JK knows his history, and not only that but he cares about our future history. When JK gave his concession speech, my son called me and said Mom , when you chose John Kerry on your gut and heart feeling you chose one classy man, and I am so glad I voted for him.

4. Coolness
Yeah he really does use both history and our future. It really gives me hope for the future. I can't see why anyone could find him boring. I loved his quoting of Justice Stewart during the second debate in St. Louis. He brings up Lincoln a lot who I've read is his all time favorite president.

6. I am in community college as you know
so our choices are limited as far as majors go. I am a liberal arts major but when I transfer I may be an Economics major since I am getting in to labor arbiration as a career. Going to do law school though and specialize in labor law. I am done with classes next week too and I can't wait, gonna use some of that time for baseball games.

7. Good for you
sounds like a fascinating career. My son is a huge baseball fan, He coaches JV softball, wanted baseball, but has to wait for that position to come open. He has had 4 winning years in softball though, and as of last year he is doing the fallball coaching for the Varsity baseball , so he is keeping his fingers crossed and waiting.

8. I was pretty good too when I played
Its hard as hell being an Orioles fan thank god I have football. If I didn't have the Steelers I'd be a person without a champion. Plus their ownership is classy as it comes too.

9. I'm a Mets fan
I hate the Yankees. I am originally from N.Y. The interesting thing about the Mets for me anyway is that I know the 3rd baseman David Wright, he went to school with my daughter. From grade school until he moved to Chesapeake in 9th grade him and my daughter were always competing for who could get the higher grade. Then of course in middle school he was on the baseball team and was very good then and pitched and my daughter was on the softball team and pitched so then the two of them were trying to out do each other on that.

We do have quite a few local ball players that make it to the big leagues, but I think David has outdone them all.

10. I hate hte Yankees
David Wright though I hear is going to be a star. Nice that the guy is smart as well as talented. My high school never had anyone from it go to the majors. However, I once struck out the nephew of a former major leaguer in an all star game/ I miss pitching really I had a lot of un with it however I quit in large part because there was a high demand for hitting and that was what I couldn't do. I feel if I had been rbought up to hit left handed instead of right handed which is odd sine I throw and do everything else lefty that I would have been a great hitter.

11. My oldest son
the history teacher, is a lefty, he pitched and was a great 1st baseman, but his hitting did him in. My other son was an outfielder and a great third baseman and outfielder, the arm that kid had. His downfall was his size, he was always told if you were only as big as your brother, who was 6'3" and about 190, he was 5'9" and about 150 soaking wet but was in great physical shape. I thought that was wrong, it shouldn't matter the size it should matter the quality of play, he quit his Senior year because of it.

12. Part of the reason why I quit was the nepotism
My dad was always working when I was a kid so exempting one season which was my first year of T-Ball he did not help coach me. It's kind of nince now though since now that he's a househusband, yes thats what we call him he helps coach my five year old brother's team. God I love that kid. It's surreal as anything though since he looks exactly how I did at that age yet I feel he's much more socially advanced than I was.

13. Three...and want to re-examine again. Not only text, but presentation.
I do believe this speech was SO monumental (both in content, timing, and passion)...that it will go down in history (if allowed by the 'Shrubs')...as a speech of a stature similar to "I have a dream", etc.

Amazing. And that steely glint in his eyes at certain points...and the set of his jaw at others. He was "feeling out" the audience, and knew he had a "clear win." That he was the right Man, with the right message, at the right time.

Playwrights know the same feeling...listening from the back at audience reaction/"connection" to a line or entire script. And when it TRULY reaches them (as JK's speech did last weekend)...what a "high" it is indeed! 'Timing' (as they say in theatre) is everything (or almost)...
