Bob Casey (PA) endorses Kerry's health care bill
<Pennsylvania Treasurer Bob Casey Jr. (D), who is expected to face Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) in November, yesterday endorsed two leading Democratic healthcare proposals.

Casey leads Santorum by double digits in opinion polls but has been criticized by the incumbent and in newspaper editorials for being vague about where he stands on issues.

In a speech outlining his healthcare policies, Casey endorsed a bill sponsored by Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) to expand health coverage to small employers and a bill sponsored by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) to increase federal funding for Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

“No issue hits closer to home for me than healthcare. It is for me, literally, at the heart of why I am running for the Senate,” Casey said in a statement from his campaign.

“These proposals are fiscally reckless and would cost taxpayers cost tens of billions of dollars,” Santorum spokeswoman Virginia Davis said.>

2. i guess if this issue doesn't matter to them
i can understand people disagreeing. but i really hate the "no difference" crap because there ARE differences and the do matter since it affects what happens to people.

4. Exactly
Sure I strongly disagree with Casey on abortion, guns, and confirming Alito however if he's going to make health care a top priority than he has my respect because he'll fight for those who don't have it. This whole crap that Casey is going to be just like Rick Santorum is ridicuious and its why my great aunt sometimes gets frustrated with the party her being anti abortion and all that.

3. Happy to hear about the support for Kerry plan. Nice! Santorum
has a lot of guts talking about anything being reckless and costly. Someone should mention the Iraq War to him. besides that, I would bet he knows nothing about either Democrat's plans.
