and why it is so hard to explain what the hell goes on here. (Really, I have been trying to say this for a long time.) http://www.thenation.com/docprint.mhtml?i=20040802&s=pierceSorry about that ending, but there is truth in here. (And the reason why we are such a strange place.)

1. Wow that was interesting |

Your state really does have an interesting political and cultural history in many ways. I hate it when Massachuetts gets dissed on by the right, it was the birthplace of the American Revolution and after Virginia had arguably the best minds of that time period.

2. It is a bit whacked though. |

And damn confusing at times. It was easy in my Father's time. You knew who to hate. Now, you gotta figure it out for yourself. (Sorry, Mass humor.)
I remember when I was a kid being given a tour of Boston. My uncle would point out the public buildings and then note who went to jail for financial shenanigans in each transaction. It was quite the tour. (Uncle P, What about that building? 3 guys, doing time right now at Walpole.) Have you ever been to the John B Hynes Auditorium. I think it was designed by MC Escher. Weird friggin building. (3 guys, I think.)
And the proper response to the Commonwealth (God save it!) is: Because nobody else will!

It used to be easy. (I am, of course, being cynical Kleeb. Boston was once called a city united by mutal hatreds. It sort of was that way. There is a lot in that story, if you read between the lines that answers the a lot of questions about the the taller Sen from MA and why MA people don't celebrate their own. We can. It might turn their heads and then they wouldn't be 'our reformers' or squeaky clean anymore. And besides, no good person worth their salt needs that. Excessive praise is bad for you, don't you know. And there is nothing in the world, no problem at all that cannot be solved if you would only work harder at it. This is still a Puritan city, btw.)

I'll have to read it again in a little while, when the end doesn't leave me in tears.
