I've heard he was on the floor all night, heard other things, does anybody have the actual deal?

1. He has been on the floor for a few hours |
|
He is trying to get an amendment added to the current Emergency Funding bill that would take the $15 billion in tax cuts to Big Oil out of the budget. He's a good man.
Sen. Stevens said that he would hang a 2nd degree amendment off this one that would permit drilling in ANWR. Bastard.
Go Wyden Go.. (Such nice Dems you have in Oregon, BTW.)

3. I was listening a bit to Rush |
|
this morning driving to work (sorry, nothing interesting on NPR, no AAR here, and sometimes I like to scream by myslef in the car), and he was suggesting that an ANWAR amendment should be introduced each & every day. Felt like pulling to the right, get out, and throw up, but I was in a hurry.

I could have expected this from Blumenauer or DeFazio, were they in the Senate. But you know I never would have guessed it from Wyden. Wow!! He's just sealed his election forever in this state, no doubt. How fun!
:woohoo:

There are a few Dems who are coming in to ask questions, so Sen. Wyden can take a drink of water and rest for a second.
Nice, nice work. Again, nice Dem Senator you got there Sandy!
Domenici always looks like he's half way between sucking a lemon and pasing a kidney stone. Yeesh.

2. I was just going to post something about this... |

I do not know anything about last night, but I watched a bit this morning and he was on for quite a while, and saying that he is willing to be on the floor as long as it takes to get his amendment to a vote. He is still on right now, I don't know what happened for the last couple of hours or so, real life interfered. ANd he seems resolute not to give the floor, even when he gets friendly questionning from Murray, he insists to make sure he can still continue to talk.

8. I've been at work and couldn't get info on this |
|
Can someone give me the whole story? Did other Dems participate? Is it over?
Also, I'm on the slowest computer since molassis was invented, so I can't make many more posts but will check back later when I get home.

He took the floor for about 5 hours. Trying to repeal an oil subsidy. One of our beloved reporters labels it "Wyden caves". I sent her a piece of my mind. Sadly, you can't tell whether she's a right wing ridiculer or a lefty loon who would have preferred he burn the place down. http://159.54.226.83/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060428/STATE/604280346/1042
