Around the sun from going upriver lyircs |
|
I want the sun to shine on me I want the truth to set me free I wish the followers would lead with a voice so strong it could knock me to my knees
Hold on world 'cause you don't know what's coming Hold on world 'cause I'm not jumping off Hold onto this boy a little longer Take another trip around the sun
If I jumped into the ocean to believe If I climbed a mountain would I have to reach? Do I even dare to speak?--to dream?--believe? Give me a voice so strong I can question what I have seen
Hold on world 'cause you don't know what's coming Hold on world 'cause I'm not jumping off Hold onto this boy a little longer Take another trip around the sun
Around the sun Around the sun Around the sun Let my dreams set me free. Believe. believe.

7. I just watched going upriver over the internet |
|
and I copied down all the songs at the end. I hope your song is in there if you havent found it yet.
Wandering Souls Greenfields Grazing in the Grass Nowhere to Run Machine Gun Almost Cut my Hair Long time gone Dreams Follow Gimme some truth Ballad of a Thin Man When Johnny comes Marching Home Daylight again On the Road again Trip around the Sun
I'm not sure why, but none of them had singers afterwards. I know Philip Glass did a lot of the composed a few of the songs. Hope this helps.

It's Grazing in the Grass - it also was a song that had lyrics but I don't remember the artist - I think it's very early 60s.

The song is Greenfields. A vocal version was by the brothers Four. I love the music used for "Going Upriver". (I couldn't check yesterday because my kids were monopolizing the DVD player. We were snowed in yesterday and my high school senior on Saturday prepared for the snow by inviting her best friend to stay over with us and getting several DVDs from the video store.) (I googled some of the lyrics that I remembered when I heard the instrumental - "Once there were valleys" and got the lyrics.)
I have been reading this group since November. I really had enjoyed following the campaign reading the Kerry/Edwards blog and loved that they listed when people were on C-Span or other channels. Between the blog, C-Span, and reading Tour of Duty, and Call to Service. Rather than an exceptional politician (like Clinton), Kerry was a unique, brilliant statesman who could be seen as the conscience of his generation. It was hard, especially after the euphoria of thinking he won on November 2, to face the reality of November 3.
I've especially enjoyed reading the Massachusetts comments as my daughter will be going to Holy Cross next year.

Wonderful school. You'll like it. Worcester is not a bad town, there are concerts and clubs and stuff.
Ask away on any questions... will do my best or punt to someone else.

She loved the school when she visited in the summer and after she interviewed in November she really was positive it was where she wanted to be. In the past, we've vacationed in Massachusetts (Boston, Cape Cod and the Berkshires) and have been impressed by both the people and the beauty of the state. (Not to mention, she'll be represented by two of the country's best senators! (Laughtenburg and Corzine - her current senators - are good too.)
