First of all, I want to apologize to everyone for starting those last three (pessimistic) topics. I know I have been very cynical of late, but inside and outside, I am an optimistic person, I really am.
It is just very frustrating to see a good dem like Kerry being held to a different standard elsewhere for things that were beyond his control using rehashed right wing talking points. I paid attention. I watched the debates, I saw the Convention speech, I saw the rallies. It's just too bad that many who I think are informed didn't. It sometimes brings back memories from 2004 that sometimes you feel like you are on mute. Guess I need to stay out of those 2008 thread or discussions huh?
I only wish I was good at posting fact after fact until it sticks like you guys, but I am learning (slowly). This is why I take refuge here, because of you all and being around people that can carry intelligent discussions while being very supportive of the Senator at the same time.
I now regret starting those threads because it may give people the wrong perception and discourage lurkers.
I like Kerry, I support Kerry, I do, I would vote for him again if given the opportunity. As I said earlier, I understand that politics is a love/hate sport that requires thick skin.
I will continue to get some good Kerry education here as always and promise to keep and open mind and optimisic attitude.

I found your last few posts interesting and stimulating. There is nothing wrong with asking questions and it is not discouraging to answer them. (It's intriguing.)
I have not always agreed with Sen. Kerry on his positions in the Senate and his voting record. (There is no one I agree with all the time, including myself. I have been known to change my mind sometimes. Sigh!) There are several things I would love to ask him about and could anticipate a disagreement. (Ahm, I think I would lose the argument though. It may take a little while, it would involve a lot of citing of statistics and such, and, damn it, I would still lose the damn argument. Sigh! That is one wicked smaht guy who doesn't like to give up a position. sigh!)
Anyway, it seems to me that you are quite optimistic. If you didn't care or didn't want to genuinely know an answer you would have given up. The fact that you come here looking for some answers is a sign of hope and interest. That is a good thing.
:patriot: right back at ya!

3. I, for one, am happy you asked |
|
because many of the things on the environmant were things I hadn't seen before. I knew Kerry (and Teresa were great on this) so it was never something I looked into.
So, thank you for asking. Also, I'm impressed that you are talking to friends about it.

I hope you didn't take the frustration in my posts as directed at you. I am a little cranky this evening I guess, but in any case it isn't you.
It's actually not bad to go through these discussions once in awhile. Keeps us sharp. :-)
Anyway don't feel bad, and I hope my responses didn't put you off.

I don't mind the questions. I just don't think they need to be couched in RW talking points about being "wishy washy" etc.
I agree with Karyn, questioning helps to bring more facts to the surface. However, even the answers, the facts, can't change the perception of people who refuse to accept them. If someone truly has an open mind, that person remains open and receptive to the facts.

8. It is always good to know what others are thinking even if we aren't |

thrilled about their misinformed opinions and we realize they do not speak for everyone else. It is good that you are consistently supporting Senator Kerry, you acquaintances need to see how dedicated you are to him. When the time comes for them to vote they will remember that support.
