So outsourcing is a problem and the jobs don't belong in other countries. In this case, companies have been outsourcing airplane maintenance jobs to El Salvador. Okay, that's not right. Now, people are implying that the Salvadoran workers are incompetent and one of them referred to them as "any old asshole". I'm sorry, but they do have safety standards and are well-trained. Just because they're from a third world country doesn't mean they're backwards. So no, the jobs shouldn't be there but don't fucking say they can't do the job either. Fuck!

the people that the jobs get sent to. The same thing happened here. Kodak and Del-phi--but most of the jobs went to Mexico and China. There's a Kodak site about 5 miles from me that was a suburban complex. The towns surrounding it were largely populated by employees from there. Now it's broken up into independent business, sports complexes, etc. It's huge. All Kodak jobs are in China.

I got to know a young woman from China a couple years ago when she was here training in management. She's sweet, hardworking, fiercely determined and one of the nicest people you could meet. You just can't begrudge the people in other countries for taking advantage of the opportunity. It's not their fault that our companies get tax breaks and cheap labor. These people need jobs and we provide them. I can't believe anyone would blame them. That is so closed minded. You have a right to be pissed.
