Granted, the worst of it didn't hit Illinois, but I still almost slid off an interstate exit ramp coming back to college today. Snow, wind, ice, shit - no fun. :(

Glad it's warm in Cali, though... must be nice.

Do you have any snow? Its cold here but there is less than a inch of snow ;( I like snow myself. Hell I don't mind the cold if you get the snow to go with, what I hate is when all you get is a bunch of freezing as weather and no damn snow that truly sucks.

9. Yeah we had some snow

Slick, nasty snow. I don't like it because I almost slid off the road several times today. I hate fucking winter, I hate living in the northern part of the country... snarl. Actually, I don't, but I DO hate the winters around here. Brutal.

16. Hell we don't get that much snow around here anymore

We use to that is what is so damn weird about. I love the snow myself. The last time we had a blizzard around here was March of '93 and we got close to two feet then. But hell it is rare we get anything worth mentioning here anymore. It sucks.

17. We got some

We had a nice blizzard in eastern MA. Nice 6-12 foot waves on the coast, 30-60 mile an hour winds and 2 - 3 feet of snow. It's so beautiful, and it's so deadly. I had to shovel, but it was easy cuz the snow was that incredibly light and fluffy stuff.

Ah, we've had this before. Will have them again. Not that big a deal, but I do love storms.

19. I love storms too -

especially when they give me a day off from work. But this one came with a nasty kick - David Nyhan died yesterday after shovelling.

The Globe has not been the same since he retired. I slightly know his younger daughter. She graduated from HS with my daughter, and was an intern for Kerry last year.

I see Will Pitt referred to Nyhan as well. Really sad. I looked forward to his appearances on Boston Common - esp. this past campaign. He and Emily Rooney had some great political chats. Emily is a tad too moderate for my taste, but Nyhan was always incisive and genuinely funny.

So, how much snow did you get. We got about 2 feet, but it's safe to travel again. (Ahhh, New England, back to 65 mph on Route 3 less than 24 hours after a blizzard.)

22. It's hard to tell

because there was so much drifting, but I'd say we got at least 2 feet. Maybe more. When I went out to shovel yesterday afternoon the snow at the end of our driveway was up to my waist. I had to shovel it halfway down so my husband could get the snowblower to work.

At least it was light!
