Yikes! Honest senator and traffic ticket story.
Marvin? gets ticket while driving Senator Kerry!

Okay, this isn't the most reliable source, but Wonkette gossip has it that:

"A couple weeks ago, I saw John Kerry riding shotgun in a compact SUV on K Street in Georgetown. The best of part is that the driver of the vehicle he was in had been pulled over and was getting a ticket!"

http://www.wonkette.com/politics/wonkd/wonkd-paparazzette-174970.php

They call him the loser of the week because his driver (I assume it was Marvin) couldn't fix a ticket. What a pathetic point of view. What, they wanted him to put in a fix? I think it is a good thing that Senator Kerry has too much integrity to stoop to having tickets fixed.

Maybe it was just a written warning.

1. How do they know he was getting a ticket?
Maybe the cop was getting an autograph.

3. Or you can say he is noteworthy enough, that a mundane event makes news
It really does show a lack of values, that they seem to think it would have been better if the Senator tried to use his position to get Marvin (or whoever he was with) out of a ticket. Imagine though the story if a certain tall Democratic Senator were caught trying to fix a ticket. The Republicans would be demanding hand cuffs immediately.

Good honest Senator

4. No kidding!
I was thinking of that too.

It would knock the war in Iraq out of the top news slot on Fox for sure.

5. What bothers me about the "story"
Why is he using a SUV?

6. Good point
I think his car is not an SUV - I don't remember what it was other than it was not an SUV, fancy, or foreign. The article could be false. It could be Teresa's car. It could be he was with someone else in their car. As a person not fascinated by cars, what is a compact SUV.

7. I know very little
about cars beyond what/when to press and turn. But I know there are indeed some compact SUVs out there that are not too bad, some good friends for instance have a Subaru Forrester that is quite nice and not too offensive.
