Hearings for this week.
I don't think there are as many as last week. But there are a few that are specific to this group.

1. Finance Committee
There is a listing for a Finance Committee meeting for today to vote on the nomination of Susan Schwab to be United States Trade Representative. It is probably vote by proxy and done later on in the day.

9. This is going on now.
But I don't think Sen. Kerry is there. Just Sen. Smith from OR. Sigh! It's only a two person committee.

I'll watch this one on the off chance I might get to see JK make that hideous excuse for a human being sweat under the hot lights.

Plus, it's fun to watch Barfbag try (and of course fail) to look intelligent when he has to follow JK in the lineup...

7. That is true!
If this was a drinking game, we could establish rules like:

Drink whenever a Rethug Sen says, "What a great job you are doing at the UN"
Drink whenever Coleman says, "Food for Oil" program
Drink whenever a Dem brings up the fact that Bolton was actually confirmed.

Good thing I'm mostly a tea-totaller. I'm be blotto about an hour into the hearing.

SD - 562

Senate Commerce Committee Chairmenr Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and Co-Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) will hold a Full Committee hearing to examine Price Gouging. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 10 a.m. in room 562 of the Dirksen Building.
Witnesses will be announced wehn available.

******************

Wow oh wow! Maybe Sen. Stevens will swear in the Gas company executives and make them talk about the obscene amount of money they are making and how they are using it to fund moronic commercials about the joys of carbon dioxide. Maybe we will hear about 'golden parachutes' for retiring oil co execs that are worth more than the GDP of a few small 3rd world countries. Maybe,

What am I saying? Ted Stevens will chair this meeting. Nobody will be sworn in, and the butt kissing from the Rethugs will be amazing. Sigh!
