Forgive me, but has anyone else heard this rumor?

Last night I heard what I thought was a pretty strange rumor. And I hate spreading gossip about other people's marriages so I decided not to post this is GD, however my curiosity got the best of me. I trust you guys not to go nutso on a random rumor. Anyway ...

Some DC lawyers told me they heard that Laura Bush has been spending a lot of nights at the Mayflower Hotel recently ... supposedly because/ W is drinking again. I have no proof and no real reason to believe it's true except that it came from some pretty reliable sources (who knows where they heard it though). They actually are both Repubicans, although not Bush fans.

Has anyone heard the same thing or seen it somewhere? Is a blog rumor or just random DC buzz? I didn't find anything when I googled it last night.

1. I haven't heard. But I sort of consider stuff like that

out of bounds for the media to cover. I mean...I read the headlines on the rags at the grocery store, but I think sometimes politicians and entertainers deserve their privacy.

2. No I agree with you actually

(I know I know I posted this here), but recently there was the NYT front page article on the Clinton marriage and plenty of talk about the Clinton marriage before. Actually, the press was pretty fond of making judgments about JK & THs marriage too. (I hated this ...HATED).

Anyway, the main reason I posted this is I was just wondering if this was a crazy "Paul is Dead" type internet rumor that someone had seen somewhere...

4. This rumor has been going around for a while now.

I saw it for the first time around Katrina.

I doubt it is true because I dont see how this would have been kept a secret. But, if it is true, it would show that the media is really corrupted.

5. That actually makes me feel better

The last thing we need is W drinking again ... can you imagine things getting WORSE????

But you're right, if the media isn't reporting this it's really bad. However, have you all seen Journeys with George? Alexandra Pelosi asks one question Bush considers "below the belt" about the death penalty and he freezes her out for weeks ... maybe months. It makes you wonder if the media would report something like this if it were true. I'm not sure they should, but they certainly have reported plenty about the Clinton marriage.
