I have always loved this group. I so admire Senator John Kerry |
|
I secretly hope that he and his allies have something up their sleeve right now. I still believe. I thought JK acted with such class at the Coronation. I heard someone say once that you can buy money but you can't buy class. JK has both. Whereas * only has money. I heard JK was booed by the supporters of * - like everything else they do I found it so repulsive. Here JK goes in an effort to do the right thing, to be non-partisan, to, well, you know and the rethugs behave so badly...and so immature, like third grade school children. Zero tolerance they have. Anyway, it's been hard the last few weeks but I still believe in Senator John Kerry. To me, he's the rightful President and he's "Presidential" and brilliant. I have enjoyed reading your posts here and I have certainly enjoyed the pictures. Thanks so much to a fellow DUer for the opportunity to be here now...you know who you are.

Don't dwell on the JK boo. How about that guy who booed during W's speech, that was one righteous boo, alright.

big reward to honor his BOO! I was so grateful for him. What happened to him? Anyone know his name? I saw a picture of him being arrested for booing? I didn't even know that was against the law? * spent so much time talking about freedom, you know, while Americans are being arrested for freedom of speech. I think it's like Jack N. said, with a slight modification, * can't handle freedom!

he's had all sorts of stuff like that over the years. But hey, when you've been shot at with real bullets--everything else can't matter very much.

14. I remember Faye. As a newbie I didn't really know how |
|
obnoxious that must have been for you. I felt bad, but it also felt great kicking all the good threads, especially on those days when there wasn't much new or when the forum was taken over by trolls. I guess that's what it means to be a newbie. I still have lots to learn. Thanks for forgiving me for that and for practicing patience and tolerance. I so needed DU and still do.

'tis wonderful to hear from another fan.
So, what's it like in Texas. I heard that Kerry got 44% in Houston. That's pretty good. By the way, Red state folks, have I told you lately that I love you. I was sitting here all cushy in MA/NH crusiing through the election without too much crap to take. I feel kind of small next to Red State folks who worked their hearts out and fought the good fight against overwhelming odds. Seriously, I don't ever want to run down Red-Staters. I would rather thank you profoundly and ask you what it was like and how can I help next time.
So thanks! You guys rock beyond the telling. If you will permit someone from the bluest of the blue, hats off to you guys. You are the ones who inspire me, because you go through a lot to stay Dems.

16. Thanks TayTay, but since Nov 3rd I want to move to a blue state |
|
I was very active during the campaign season. I wore several hats. I worked hard, like many other Dems I know. I enjoyed it too. I loved the Kerry Edwards ticket. I thought they ran a great campaign (it gets on my last nerve to hear people complain about their campaigning). In the end, we can't beat fraud no matter what.
It's been very hard in this state. I am surrounded by Bushies. I can't stand them. I used to be more tolerant. Now, in my opinion, it's not about allowing other people to have their political ideas. I used to always be about that and for that. You know, I may not agree but you are entitled to your opinion. To me, if you can vote for * I mean, if you think he is a good "President" who is doing a good job then we don't have the same values. If people I know can get behind him, then I no longer want to associate with them. I have lost all respect for them. They call themselves conservatives. They call themselves Christians. I think they are pharisees and there is nothing conservative about this "President" or his agenda. So, that's my soapbox. Thanks for asking though. And thanks so much for the salute.
On a positive note, there were many, many people voting Kerry Edwards and the KE yard signs and bumper stickers kept multiplying like rabbits here. It's weird I met many people who were voting KE. People were volunteering at the HQuarters who had never volunteered politically before. I met people who had never voted before (way older than 18) who were voting for the first time for KE. Our undervotes here in Texas were incredibly high. We had election day issues in this state...of course.

20. it had to have been fraud-- |

People all over were so jazzed for Kerry/Edwards. I agree, they did run a great campaign, and JK was a great candidate, JE too. All of their family members were so great. The convention was great!
Everyone had so much energy, so many people came out to help for the first time ever for a political campaign (myself included). Then the polls said he was leading going into election day, and the exit polls said he won by 3%...and so much suspicious crap was going on.
I hope they know they really won--or maybe it is more painful that way? I think it would feel better to know you really won than to think you lost...it helps me to know that America isn't really so crazy and stupid as to re-elect such a failure of a president--not the majority anyway. Sigh. If they did--then it was because of the Right's dirty nasty lies and smears, and a complicit media, and fear tactics. If they did, they deserve what they get. At least we can be glad we didn't vote for the guy when things go down the toilet in the next four years.
Wow, where did that rant come from? Must be from watching all the repubs on Cspan today!!

and DeLay and Hutchison...none of them represent me, or my family. So what happens when the representatives in your representative government don't bother to represent the people anymore?
Gee, thanks for the kudos because when I look at it that way, you're right TayTay...we do stick it out. High tolerance for pain? I have lived here in Texas my whole life. Except for a few months in Georgia. It's a pity. * and his cohorts are a disgrace to Texas and the nation.
