Heads up, New England Kerrycrats!
I just heard on teevee that JK will be on The Chet Curtis Report on NECN (New England Cable News) on Monday, 7/10, at 8:00 PM. Set those Tivos and VCRs to record. :)

1. Ironic, but I can't get this.
NECN is cable only. I have satellite. Sigh! Thank goodness NECN puts a lot on their web site. Will get it after that from TheBostonChennel.com. Sigh!

2. Yeah, NECN is owned by Comcast
So of course they don't want to give the sattelite companies access to it.

4. This was an excellent interview!
About 20 minutes or so long. I hope NECN posts the video soon. Look for it to appear here some time in the near future: http://www.boston.com/news/necn/Shows/chet/

5. Thanks to you, Rox, I was able to see this!
I don't usually watch news, so I would have missed it! I have to say, I love NECN's respect for Kerry and their general fair-mindedness. If I were to watch news, it would be theirs!

I hope this will soon be posted at the site so everyone can see it. He was strong, gorgeous and clear. It was awesome to see him being interviewed by someone who asked him a question and then WAITED FOR HIM TO ANSWER IT (and actually listened to the answer.)

Thank you so much for the alert!

8. Thanks for the link.
This was a great interview. Somehow I get the feeling that he thinks the * administration is incompetent. :)

I loved his line about Lieberman, "Joe is still a Democrat - at least today."

Oh, and is it just my imagination, or is he looking younger? In a word, yum.

11. Thanks for the link
it was a great interview and he looked fabulous. I liked his explanation on Lieberman.

I must admit everytime he says fedup I get a little smile on my face , I know , I know he did not get it from my screen name, but it still makes me feel good.

18. thanks so much for the link!
Man, he's looking good! Sometimes he looks tired and ragged, but not in this interview. And he's focused, informed, eloquent, mentally agile, and angry. I liked his saying "I'm fed up" and "I'm angry". Because he knows so many of us share the feeling and wants to let us know he wants to be part of the solution to this nation's woes. He's got a clear plan for how to fix them and focuses on those. I can't help comparing this interview with recent appearances by Biden and Lieberman, who were mostly focusing all about themselves, not the country!

6. Video's up
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 08:45 PM by TayTay
Sen. Kerry looks good. (I think he just had a haircut.) Nice video.

Ah, he sounds good and feisty. I like that. (That said, David Ortiz is in the home run derby. Ahm, watch the good Senator or David Ortiz. Ahm, well, the good Senator is on tape. Ahm, gotta go for a few minutes.)

7. Excellent interview. Chet Curtis is a great interviewer.
Some great answers. One criticism, however. I think he should stop to try to justify his vote. He said it was wrong. I understand that it bugs him to have been lied to, but he cannot continue to spend several minutes in an interview to explain that.

10. I took it as an explanation to local voters
Sen. Kerry was very emphatic on his points. Ahm, they are good points to make in this state.

I went to a concert in Lowell on Sat. Judy Collins had an opening singer who did a really harsh anti-Bush song. The crowd gave him a standing-O. Ahm, Bush's policies are not popular here and Bush himself couldn't get elected trash collector in Hell.

I see nothing wrong with the good Senator coming out very harshly against that incompetent boob Bush at home. I also think that most of the State likes Kerry's plan, once it's explained. It's also nice to see Kerry so combative and forceful in the interview. I liked it a lot. He's a wicked good Senator.

12. As the media constantly refers to "Kerry and ----" voting for the war
it is important that he say both that it was wrong and why he voted as he did. Part of the poblem Kerry has as compared to others such as Edwards or Biden is that they WERE for the war. They can say simply that they were wrong on the vote (or on going to war) - Edwards isn't even specicific on this. Kerry's comments through fall and winter make it obvious that if the choice were his, there would be no war and I would guess that he has gone as far as he can in accepting guilt on this - and he needs to explain his vote, even though it may be more political to let it be.

14. A note of explanation to people not from MA
Chet Curtis is a bit of a local news legend in Boston. He was anchoring the news on Boston's Channel 5 when I was young. In fact, he and his now-ex-wife Natalie Jacobson were co-anchors of the evening news on that channel for a couple of decades. Natalie is still on channel 5, but since their split, Chet has moved on to NECN.

BTW, does anyone here have the skinny on what led to their split-up?

15. Personal issues
There were unpleasant rumors about some, ah, wanderings and such.

BTW, Chet and Natalie go way, way back with John Kerry. He used to work for Channel 5 as a commentator after he left the DA's office in Middlesex. (Anyone remember Avi Nelson? Ah me, it's tough to get old.)

Anyway, Chet has known the Senator for a long, long time, 30+ years.

16. I remember Avi Nelson
My conservative Dad (rest his soul) used to listen to Avi Nelson all the time.

BTW, which one wandered, Chet or Nat?

17. I have only heard rumors.
Ah poor Natalie! BTW, this is one of the few instances in which a famous couple broke up and the wife was the one considered to have more power. Natalie got to keep the anchor position at Channel 5, while Chet was banished to NECN because Natalie didn't want him at the anchor desk.

13. What a great interview!
I just caught in at the website. John Kerry has lost all senate speak completely. His answers were on target, interesting, engaging...
The man just gets better every time I watch him. I liked his answers on Liebermann, and on running again, especially.
Loved Chet Curtis' phrasing on the running question; 'I would be remiss if I didn't ask you this...'. Indeed, Chet, indeed :-)
