Is Sen. Kerry in DC today? |
|
I can picture him going home to deal with the horrific Big Dig accident. Has he been spotted in DC today?
Thanks

The Repugs wanted to use Homeland Security money to prevent reimportation of drugs from Canada. Gregg even said that Al Quaeda could make a drug that looked like Lipitor and has anthrax in it and sell it on the Internet.
They really think they can use WOT for everything.
This accident is really terrible, but I dont think that the Senator can do a lot on this issue.

There was a lot of federal money in the construction of the Big Dig. A lot of federal money. And the companies that did a lot of costruction are associated with the Bush Family and are now working in Iraq. (Bechtel, KBR, etc.)
Sen. Kerry was a force in the Congress back in the 80's for getting the project approved. He championed it, along with Sen. Kennedy and, in it's earliest phases, Speaker O'Neill. Then the Repub won the Governorship of Mass and have held it for the last 16 years. The Congress went Repub and when it did, oversight of federal projects, including the Big Dig and the 15 Billion dollars it cost, went away. that's your money, whether you live here or not. It matters.
This is more than a Mass issue. That was federal money and it was mismanagement and cronyism on both the State and Federal level that may have lead to this accident. Ahm, there should be some people going to prison for this.
